Source: Ben Wallace leaving Pistons to sign with Bulls
    By Chad Ford

Ben Wallace has been the face of the Detroit Pistons the last five years. No more.

A league source told ESPN.com Monday night that Wallace has told the Pistons he has accepted an offer from the Chicago Bulls.

While exact details are unavailable, the offer is thought to be a four-year, $52 million dollar deal.

Can I be strapped to the largest firework in the country so I can explode like the Pistons chances just did?

Goes both ways. Pistons couldn't come up with $4 million over 4 years?

    This obviously wasn't about money.

Actually I think I read a detnews article that said something like 4 years 49.6 mil. So Ben went to the Bulls for a whopping 2.4 million extra.

They must've wooed the hell out of him or Arn pushed Ben towards chicago.

It's basically a screw you to the deal he was offered.

I HATE FA season because the initial offering team is at a disadvantage tremendously. You make the initial offer, someone comes with something better and it's automatically seen as lowballing.

Bye Ben buddy...it was fun. We're sSOL at this point. Gotta get Nazr Mohammed IMO--MAYBE Joel Pryzbilla

For 4 Mil over 4 years this is clearly and without a doubt about the coaching philosophy and the focus on offense. That's not enough money for it to be the main reason. Ben hates Flip and it cost us our best defender. Teal Meal Deal anyone?

LB wins and focuses on D = Run him out of town
Ben wins, outworks everyone, and focuses on D = Run him out of town

Flip, spectates his way to a great reg season, pisses off our most important player, and gets his %%%%% handed to him in the postseason = THAT'S A KEEPER FOLKS!

Basically thats what Ben just said to the Pistons Org. his team mates and the City of Detroit. Definately this was not about money and was more about Flip and Mr D. I don't think the Organization ever really forgave Big Ben for his part in the brawl.

That's true, I forgot about those reasons! I have a question though, does that mean that there is no sign-and-trade at all or is there still a possibility of a sign and trade so detroit gets something in return???

No sign and trade, there never would've been. Just pipe dreams of D fans.

Ben is not restricted, the only reason why there would be a S&T is if he got more money and Chicago agreed to that.

This is a major flop by the Pistons.

I guess Ben didn't feel any love from the Pistons. No one guy is bigger than the team. We will ride again. It is not the end of the world.

No sign and trade. You can forget about getting someone good. Pistons are back into the teal era.
