There is only one player they can trade for him - Luol Dang. Even worse contract. I would pass on that. That's the thing - would you really take anything for Rip?
Because they are under the cap we can trade Rip for beans? I can't remember if both teams have to be under or only the receiving team.
Joe will never trade Rip in division. Also, the author miscounted. It is 5 names. Interesting how 4 of the top 5 are from the West.
Can we send them back Ben Gordon? I think Dumars may wait and risk that Rip will be healthy and thus a lot easier to trade mid-season. An injury free Rip is still a pretty good player so we may actually get someone back in return.
I don't think he thought Amir would come back to bite him in the butt the way that Rip would as a Bull.
Rip to Chicago in exchange for Taj Gibson and some 2nd round picks that Joe D loves to have could work very nice for us.. But I guess the salaries don't match..
This list clearly shows how Rip is holding Joggin' Rodney back. Trading Rip shouldn't be that difficult if it is Joe's desire to send Rip someplace nice because it only makes sense to send him to a contender.
Yea but once Joe gets that attitude of wanting to send his old vets to contenders then we may as well pack it in. We 1st got him so he could help us be a contender.
Yes, but the difference between Al Jefferson and say KG, KG took a bunch of tomato cans to 50 win seasons and the playoffs in the West. Al Jefferson takes those tomato cans to the lottery. Big Al is a good player, but not an impact player really.
That tells me more about how great KG is/was rather than what AL is/isn't. It's like arguing Paul Pierce sucked because he can't measure up to Larry Bird But since AL isn't here, I'm done. I just needed a few days to vent my frustrations and now like Jay-Z would say, "On to the next one".
So now Al isn't a good defender? 1.7 blocks per for multiple years and he's slacking. 1) [sarcasm]sure[/sarcasm] 2) So now we want a big who can score 20+ points, get 11+ rebounds, shoot nearly 50% from the floor while doing that, and play some sort of subjective stellar D.....(must be averaging more than 2 blocks and 1 steal per is my guess) How many players in the last 10 years have been able to do all of those things? 3) Kevin Garnett - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Kevin didn't lead tomato cans to much of anything. He had Brandon for a while, and that was after running with Gugs and Steph. He didn't really start producing with the Wolves until age 27, and that was after he got Sprewell and Cassell. Before knocking those guys, lets remember that it was those guys that lifted Garnett, not the other way around. Late in games he literally ran from the ball. He depended on the late game play of others to win games. His best playoff run was led by some upandcoming PG...can't remember his name though. And then it was downhill city until trade day to Boston, where people still doubted him to the point of actually calling him a loser rather than "not a winner" Paul was labeled a loser by that time as well. I'll still take a 25 year old guy with Al's kind of production. Seems to me that in order to replace our current steadys a player needs to be stellar on both ends of the floor...if they are great offensively their defense isn't up to par. The problem with that expectation though, is that those guys are called Superstars, and we aren't going to get them. Sooner or later we like Joe will have to move on.
I get a feeling that if 2 years ago a rumor came out that Joe had to dump Tayshaun to keep Amir most would have been for it, citing Amir promise and defense whereas compared to Al he's a joke.
Cloud- It's really a non-factor. Minny did not want to take on salary in return for Jefferson. We could not match that offer from Utah. (And no- Jefferson is NOT a good defender)
Cloud, I admit you're making really strong points. It is great to have you posting around here again. I like seeing you and army, gazoo and KGREG. It's like putting the band back together for another tour.
