I would love to switch Afflalo for Stuckey. It's pretty sad that we would have to do that given that we gave AA away and gave Stuckey the keys to the Ferrari.

I'd trade Stuck for Spellcheck in a freaking heartbeat but I still see it as a move to upgrade the bench.
Joe needs to acquire a #1 and #3 scorer at SG & SF (maybe AA can be that #3).

I sure like his D and his ability to knock down jumpers.
It's a comedy of errors that we pine for players that we simply gave away in the past.

Alf is a top 5 SG in the NBA right now, granted the SG spot in th eNBA is weaker than it's ever been in recent years.

For the record, any and all posts I make that contain the word "Stuckey" are supposed to be sarcastic. Some are less clear than others.

Here is one way of ranking the shooting guards:
Hollinger's NBA Player Stats - ESPN Insider - National Basketball Association - ESPN

Afflalo ranks a little better when sorted by "estimated wins added"
Hollinger's NBA Player Stats - ESPN Insider - National Basketball Association - ESPN

Here is where our starting lineup ranks in terms of "qualified" players:

PG: Knight ranks 46th in the league at his position
    SG: Singler ranks 50th
    SF: Prince is 29th
    PF: Maxiell is 51st
    C: Monroe is 17th

So, by this measure, we have 1 guy would would be a starting Center on about half the teams in the league. We have 1 guy who would be a starting SF on 1 other NBA team. And we have 3 guys who would be 8th-10th men.

Not pretty. Pretty much all of our bench players check in above them in PER.

    PG: Bynum: 31st
    SG: Stuckey: 25th
    SF: Daye: 33rd
    PF: Villa: 11th
    C: Drum: 6th

If Daye can get his PER above Prince's, then we'll probably become the only team in NBA history to have an entire bench unit with better PERs than the starting unit.

Trey Burke last night, on the road against a very weak Northwestern University:
23 points, 9/16 FG%, 4/6 3FG% (and 2 of the 4 trey's were from NBA range), 5 asts (2 TO's), 4 rebs, 4stls and only committed 1 foul. Again 100% total control at the PG position the entire night, didn't force or take a bad shot and he always got Michigan a good to great shot in their half-court sets.

While I want us to make the playoffs, my preference is to come VERY close this year and barely miss out on the 8th seed, I'd hate to lose a pick in THIS draft, and if we get a late lottery selection, I think you go with Burke.

It is because they have Singler tagged as a SF (where he ranks 50th). I just took his PER and inserted it into the SG list.

They have Stuck as a PG. I moved him over to SG, even though he does play a significant amount of PG.

Its probably a horrible deal for Mayo because he will get much more. Look at the salary of non rookie contracts. Mayo is at least as good as Stuckey and in today's NBA Stuckey is paid about on par with what he is.

Look at Afflalo. The guy gets 8+ per years. Would I take him over Mayo and Stuckey? For sure. But you are not getting Afflalo for 4 years/24 million. You get Stuckey type guys or HOPE for a Mayo.

No way I would take Afflalo over Mayo.

Afflalo is the better defender. It depends on what your team needs.

I would take aflack over mayo. You get a defensive minded guard that can hit his shots. Kind of what we need isnt it?

So does Mayo. He's a better defender than you think.

Most around here feel as if he's going to be the second coming of Ben Gordon.

I think this team is starting to find itself a little bit. The reason I say target Mayo and Millsap this summer (I'm thoroughly convinced Mayo is going to opt out) is because I think that if you took THIS starting lineup and replaced Singler with Mayo, and replaced Maxiel with Millsap, and combine that with the (recent) bench production.......you'd have something pretty decent.
