can't sleep, looking through the standings, i realize that we have beaten 5 out of the six division leaders (Cavs, Magic, Lakers, Nuggets, Spurs) and that we have lost to 3 of the six division cellar-dwellers (Wiz, Pacers, OKC)

    la plus ca change...

Means we don't have an identity yet...its like the LA Times said:

"The Pistons can lose to and beat any team..."

It's not just that we are playing differently in different games, it's also that we've been a different team in different games.

We had CB for a few. Then Bynum emerged in his absence. Then we got AI. Then Kwame was starter to replace AJ. Then Rip and Sheed were injured. Then AJ and KB sat out for a stretch. Small ball took over for a while. Maxiell got DNP's.

It's been chaos. Tough stretch coming up, despite all the home games.

AJ has got to feel like he's a bowling pin...Sometimes he up, sometimes he's down.

It was like that earlier in the season but I think things have changed. Right now I do not think Detroit can beat any of the good teams.

Unfortunately, I doubt that helps you sleep.

Just get up and shovel some snow. That will help.

Look at the starting units used in each game. If we match up, we pretty much always win. If we had avoided the whole small ball thing, and the too big thing with Kwame and Sheed paired together, we would only have five or less losses at this point. (Note, there is a time and a place for Kwame and Sheed to be paired up, like in that win over the Lakers.)
