I hate Ish Smith and Archie Goodwin... this is not looking good.

Edit: I hate McCollum and MacLemore too.. they just blew the game there.. the whole Sacramento offensive system sucked tonight. They keep taking bad shots. Is more painful than watch the Pistons game...

Phx 102-97 ... 23.2 seconds left. Kings three point attempt, Maclemore, missed. Cut with foul, Phoenix scored both.
    Another McLemore 3pt attempt, missed.
McLemore to the free throw line, 5 seconds left. Score both. Final.

104 - 99 and the Pistons get the 8th spot going to the lottery.

The Kings give their fans what they wanted, the loss and the 7th spot.

Well in the end, Ben McLemore and Quincy Acy were no match for the Goodwin and the Morris twins and the better team won. Even the Kings color analyst Jerry Reynolds said, "The Pistons lost, so we'll settle for the 7th worst record and avoid the coin flip in the league office. "

I just read that Kyle Singler will represent the Pistons at the lottery.
At this point, I'm assuming that Tom Gores has his legal team filing paperwork to move forward with the process of adopting Kyle as his own son.

    Happy Mothers Day.

.......and if some how or another team leap frogs us and jumps into the top three spot and we get pushed back to ninth and basically no pick, all of Lee's comments would have been validated. This guy has no business playing in the NBA or representing a team at the lottery draft selection...:crying:

No....Lee wanted us to win meaningless games at the end of the season. He basically wished for us to lose the pick. It's the complete opposite of what you are saying.

The NBA draft lottery is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN.

The Detroit Pistons are slotted at No. 8 of 14 teams in the draft lottery. Though, as you know by now, their draft situation is a bit interesting this year.

First of all, here are Pistons, odds at each draft choice, courtesy of the NBA:

    No. 1 pick:2.80%

    No. 2 pick:3.26%

    No. 3 pick:3.88%

    Nos. 4-7 picks:0%

    No. 8 pick:72.47%

    No. 9 pick:16.78%*

    No. 10 pick:0.80%*

    No. 11 pick:0.01%*

    Nos. 12-14 picks:0%

After that turd sandwich he served up in FA last summer I would totally have Joe representing the Pistons at the lottery if I were Gores.

I'll be tuning in tonight to view the most awkward 5 minutes in television.
Tommy Bahama should have brought Darko back to represent the Pistons at this damn thing.
The Serbian gangsta represents the last time that we jumped up the board. I trust DMC's juju more than Kyle Singleton's.

Singler should want us to get leapfrogged since his position is most at risk of upgrade.

I've been doing this for years now... but this year I'll add something..

I really hope this is the last time we have to be catching up with all this odds at the lottery. I think SVG will take us out of here. I want him to. We need to get back at the competition. So, for this reason and many more, I hope this is the last time in a while that I have to say....

    Go Balls!!!!!!
    Vamos Pelotas!!!!!!

    I like this part.

    • The Pistons were desperate to get out of the Gordon deal
    • Now they're desperate to avoid paying the price needed to get out of the Gordon deal
    • The article doesn't mention it, but they're also desperate to get out of the deals they made with the cap relief they got from trading Gordon
Pistons would be relieved to stay right where they are in draft lottery | The Detroit News

In giving my Lee impersonation, Just having Single there seems like a bad omen,.....Just wonder if the Piston players had their own lottery and a the ball with his name was pulled so he represents?

I mean what was the thought process in sending Singler??? I am thinking either Gores, Van Gundy or Jerry the Security guy should be sitting in that chair ...

Nah, just go for some reality. I say it would have been ironic that the major popcorn vendor in the Palace would be the chosen one. Just look at the soon-to-be draft order...those results are coming out from a giant popcorn machine.

The actual method that is used:

To determine the winner, fourteen ping pong balls numbered 1–14 are placed in a standard lottery machine and four balls are randomly selected from the lot. Just as in most traditional lotteries, the order in which the numbers are drawn is not important. That is, 1-2-3-4 is considered to be the same as 4-3-2-1. So although there is a total of 24 (4!) orders in which the balls numbered 1-2-3-4 can be picked, they are all treated as the same outcome. In doing this, the permutation of 4 balls from 14 becomes the combination of 4 balls from 14. That is, the total of 24,024 (14! / 10!, or 14x13x12x11) possible permutations is reduced by a factor of 24, to 1,001 combinations (or 14! / (10! x 4!)). Of these, 1 outcome is disregarded and 1,000 outcomes are distributed among the 14 non-playoff NBA teams. The combination 11-12-13-14 (in any order that those numbers are drawn) is not assigned and it is ignored if drawn; this has never occurred in practice.

In the event a lottery pick is traded to another team, the record of the original team (whose pick it was before the trade) still determines eligibility for the lottery, and assignment of chances.

As of 2013, with 30 NBA teams, 16 qualify for the playoffs and the remaining 14 teams are entered in the draft lottery. These 14 teams are ranked in reverse order of their regular season record and are assigned the following number of chances

    1. 250 combinations, 25.0% chance of receiving the #1 pick
    2. 199 combinations, 19.9% chance
    3. 156 combinations, 15.6% chance
    4. 119 combinations, 11.9% chance
    5. 88 combinations, 8.8% chance
    6. 63 combinations, 6.3% chance
    7. 43 combinations, 4.3% chance
    8. 28 combinations, 2.8% chance
    9. 17 combinations, 1.7% chance
    10. 11 combinations, 1.1% chance
    11. 8 combinations, 0.8% chance
    12. 7 combinations, 0.7% chance
    13. 6 combinations, 0.6% chance
    14. 5 combinations, 0.5% chance
