I don't know. To me it seemed like a half hearter initial offer by Dumars just to say he made one and Ben went along pretending like he would have re-signed if we had matched.

For whatever reason, and we have beaten it up all summer, both sides chose to part ways.

This post reminds me of what we still have left. I think a Sheed for Ben trade would have been respectable. We only had 1 Wallace 3 years ago.

dba - good points on the Zone.

I'm anxious to see some footage of this zone that features both Nazr and Mohammed in the paint.

IMO because the way the game{rules}is played "now" we have the right Wallace still here.

I don't know. I think Big Ben wore out his welcome. I think the Pistons wanted him to get offered more money by another team so they could have an easy out. If they did not offer him a contract at all people every where would go off on the Pistons Organization. As much of a hot head as Sheed seems to be I think he has matured alot and will do what is asked of him even if he doesn't like it much as long as he doesn't have to take a pounding like workingon the low block.

Sheed could become a problem child real quick. I think his history shows that. Hopefully he's still tradeable if that happens (well, hopefully it doesn't happen).

We need to start the year quickly, no doubt about that.

Maybe he figured by ticking Ben off it would be easier to broker a sign and trade for Kevin Garnet...

No way, dude. Cheick has more "potential" than KG ever had. Plus, Garnett is a malcontent. His big head wouldn't allow Eddie Griffin to take even a few of his minutes. KG went so far as to plant liquor and porn in Eddie's S.U.V. just to get rid of him. That's a fact, you can look it up.

I don't think the salaries would work. You might have to throw in Rick Rickert to make that deal.

LOL! Mr. Garnett strongly denies that allegation.

Yea, I'm sure it would come back to haunt the Pistons if they dealt Rickert. That move's got Rodney White written all over it.

no, definitely not bums. you're right. but i'm thinking just as much as the point guards who are supposably [sic] chauncey's inferiors who made him look like he was standing still (j will, and a bunch of other guys during the regular season). i don't know, i was far more impressed with rip's man up perimeter defense -- the problem there is that it's not consistently applied.
