its a silly rule...u KNOW its a penalty to do it, so why would a player flick it in the stands ON PURPOSE????

A Wing flipped it out earlier in the year when the Blackhawks had the opening season points streak going and the Wings had a chance to end it...but a flip into the stands with less than 3 minutes left lead to a penalty, a power play, a tie and an OT victory by the Hawks

Would it hurt the sport if the glass just went up another 20 feet?

    Yea, you lose the ambience.

I like the puck rule, too. It takes the decision out of the referees' hands.

Because if it was NOT a penalty then a player WOULD knock it in the stands on purpose...

Maybe they could add a minute at the end like in soccer?

It would make it easier to play glass out when the opposing team forechecks you heavy and make it easier to play boxplay. It's hard enough as it is to score in hockey today imo. Seeing the team that tries to put pressure on the other team go back and grab the puck in it's own zone all the time really kills the fun for me.

I just thought to myself that the ambiance loss is already there with the safety net. However, I do look forward to many good points from you in the future and I will do my best to publicly acknowledge them.

BUT did HANK do it on 'purpose;' with 3 minutes to go leading by only one!!?? How about a little common sense ? Even NBC Sports said it will reviewed for dismissal this off season/

The problem is that the bar is set so high with you. We can't very well check the "like" button with EVERYTHING you say. Ive restrained myself to checking the button on only the best of the best comments you make.

A rule is a rule but I agree with you. Maybe they could do something like in the last 3 minutes, only the trailing team gets a penalty in that situation? But if you leave yet another thing to the refs discretion...

But who cares? THE RED WINGS WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Why would you want to make comebacks harder?

You better start liking my posts or I will be forced to posting those cross-dressing photos that you kept messaging me last year.
