The odds of winning 21 in a row at home starting next game is about 2,000,000 to 1 if every game is an even match up. If we take the team with the 2nd best home record in the NHL- St. Louis at 24-3-4, then the odds of them going on a 21 win streak starting tomorrow is only about 217 to 1. It's tough to calculate how many seasons it would take them to accomplish it if they stayed exactly this good at home going forward, but I'm estimating that it would take 30+ seasons. The Wings may have just set a record that will never be broken. Hockey will probably cease to exist in its current form before another team beats it.
