NFL will take away draft picks, I'm guessing. PR nightmare for the league, actually, with a "cheating" team getting into The Big Game. Not that the deflated balls really made much of a difference in the game.

Not in that game, but the Ravens have a legitimate gripe.

I'd be ok if they allowed deflation of footballs.

I think they should put helium in the footballs.

I am not feeling this lack of respect for the true criminal innovators in this sport.

I still don't get it. The Pats deflated game balls over the course of a match or what?

Supposedly, yes. Each team gets a set of balls that they are then allowed to mess with (scuff, inflate, massage, etc). However, they can't deflate them below the league's min air pressure level.

There are a third set that nobody can prep that are used for special teams plays.

The NFL has said nothing yet, so lots of rumors.... but what we think we know... that between 2 hours before the game when the refs check the balls and half time 11/12 balls that the patriots used became underinflated. The score for the first half with "bad" balls was 17-7 patriots, and 28-0 in the 2nd half with "good" balls. I honestly think if it had been the Seahawks that this had happened to and not the Patriots and their history this would be a total non story.

The Patriots would have won irregardless of the psi of the footballs. The point of this story is that it looks like the Patriots knowing, intentionally, and brazenly cheated with no regard for the rules and integrity of the league.

If there is legitimate proof of said cheating, I would like to see loss of major draft picks for the franchise and game suspensions for Bellichik.

I think deflating the balls makes them more difficult to throw long distance.
    Something I noticed years ago.
