    This year?
Dang. He's the kind of a guy that coaches who have an agenda against winning play for heavy minutes. We could have really benefited by having him play tonight.

Add Raymond Felton, Mavs starting PG, to the list of Dallas guys not playing tonight.

With our trouble defending guards, this should help our cause even more than Parsons being out.

So far the Mavs don't need Williams or Felton....new dad JJ. Barea is a one man wrecking crew victimizing Reggie and all of the Pistons defense to the tune of 19 points...all in the 2nd quarter....

Morris has 22, so hopefully he does not cool off. if he doesn't score at least 30, then we know selfish 0-7 Reggie didn't pass it to him enough.

...and of course our potent bench along with Reggie, have no points...

Pistons down 51-36 at the half....and will need a big second half to salvage the last game of this long home stand...

Bench was 2-11 from the field with 6 points. They gave us nothing when they came in other than giving up several points. That 13-3 run given up by the bench after Mo tied it was a back breaker. Oh yeah...and the 15-0 run that they gave up to start the second qtr was nothing that we can forget either. I understand that they are defensively challenged, but at least find the hoop...

21 points by Mo in the first half...10 in the second half when they could not find him open...Other teams feed the beast, we are still trying to get our own shots.

Barea was watching his wife deliver a baby girl last night, but still had time to fly to Detroit and deliver a blow to the Pistons playoff scenario. If only that baby had been late.....

This was a devastating loss IMO as all of the remaining home games had to be wins to secure a post season spot. Two games in a row that we failed to hit 90 points. Not a good time to have an issue with the offense. Pope and Reggie combined 6-24....the bench mia for two straight games.....maybe time to bring in Hilliard and Bullock....

Good report. Morris is awesome. Despite problems with Barea, which largely stemmed from SVG taking centuries to decide to put KCP on him, our starters were way, way plus as they again handed off the ball to our bench toward the end of the 3rd quarter. Our bench, specifically the time where both Blake and Baynes were in, got to negative 23.

Barea did not score in the 3rd quarter with Pope guarding him, so he was sat, awaiting the inevitable appearance of Blake back into the game.

Soon as they hacked Dre, the very first time, out he came. And that was the end of our chances to win the game. Again, the way to handle it, put in your best defensive players, and make them try to score more than what Dre gets at the line - while they are busy fouling out. Either they foul out their best guys, or they put in scrubs to play the game. Or, you sit Dre, and put, well, anybody on Earth other than Baynes, who is worthless. Note, again, Dre did not come in when it got under 2 minutes. The notion that the other team is going to routinely find ways to foul Dre within plays he is involved in is just an excuse, imo, for SVG to do what he so dearly loves, playing Baynes. He plays Baynes just to prove he was not wrong in signing the guy. Nope. Bad signing, just making it worse, and worse, and worse, by actually playing him, ever, under any circumstance.

Total coaching loss. And we can not get away with many more of them. The truly scary part, all this is lost on SVG, and you can expect him to march out the same pathetic bench next game. I do not listen to his pressers anymore, just makes me ill to listen to his excuses. I'll pass.

GM loss...IMO...nixed the Donuts/Thornton trade when both of them would have provided bench support that we seldom get. JoAnthony doesn't play, so it was a loss/loss.

We have had an open roster spot since the Illy/Jennings/Tobias Harris trade and they have only managed to add two 10 day guys who have played in 3 games.

Meanwhile other contenders/pretenders have signed the likes of Joe Johnson, Mike Beasley, Kevin Martin, Ty Lawson, Kris Humphries, Marcus Thorton, Jimmer Fredette, Andre Miller, JJ Hickson, and David Lee since the trade deadline ended....If he couldn't convince these scrubs to sign for the rest of the season, how is he going to convince someone to sign long term this summer?

At least 5 of those guys would have better than what we have sitting on the bench and I am sure they would have given us a scoring spark off the bench Even old man Miller would have found the open man more so than Blake and when Reggie was being Bizzaro Reggie in the first half. Mike Beasley has been steal from the Chinese BL putting up 15 pts>>on 15 shots :) a game....but at least he shoots in the paint...

Yep, once again someone sits out and his replacement/or fellow position player (Barea) gets more shots and is the key contributor to our demise...similar as to when the Pelicans Ajinja got hurt and Anthony Davis wound up playing 43 minutes and scoring 59 points.

You think Dinwiddie and Joel Anthony would have made a difference last night?

    40. 40 and 45 mins for Harris, Morris and Pope yesterday.

Reggie is shooting Pope percentages from 3 since the all-star break. He needs to step it up.

The bench had a rough night. Is Bullock out of the lineup for good? Did he hit his threes at too high percentage?

I didn't get to watch the game live, started around 10:00. Really hyped and fairly certain we would win, well, wth, that little pos Barea I can't stand him, he couldn't miss and Reggie couldn't hit the side of a barn. What a letdown, I was so anxious to get started watching that game , there was a little bit of hope in the second half I thought hey, maybe we will pull this out, but no chance with NO BENCH at all, the starters tried their best, they have no backup. Stan better work on that bench this summer big time. That was a winnable game for us.

The bench had six points. JJ Barea, third string point guard, was the player of the game for the Mavs. RC outcoached SVG by forcing Andre out of the game. That won the game for the Mavs. Next year, with a rule change, this won't happen.

Marcus Morris was the only bright spot with 31 points and 6-8 on threes. Give him 25 shots if he's hitting everything. If the bench is awful why isn't Bullock getting some pt?

By forcing you mean fouling once?

Morris was once again on fire. During the post game he noted that even when he's on hot he's not looking to take a ton of shots, the same can be said for Tobias Harris. We have a front court that can put up numbers but these guys aren't volume shooters and they are not at their best when they're in an iso situation. These guys need a flowing offense where there's ball and player movement. Our biggest problem right now (aside from Reggie Jackson's inability to defend ANYONE) is that we don't run any real offensive sets. It's REALLY bad. Last night I saw why Jackson struggles, teams are jumping him on the pick and roll and forcing him to pick up his dribble and he can't get rid of the ball quick enough to the (now open) screener. Reggie has to start running that play looking to give the ball up to the screener the way Steph gives it up to Draymond and Bogut.
I really can't stand Reggie. Reggie is to KGreg what Illy is to Lee.
