Anything Joe can offer to get Howard in an extension sign an trade?

Howard- $19.3M (assume current level matched, but with increases and 5 year term)

    Offer:
    Monroe- $3.2M (2 years + qualifying offer)
    Knight- $2.8M (3 years + qualifying offer)
    Drummond- $3.0M (?) (3 years +)
    Maggette- $10.9M expiring

Orlando would get the 3 most promising players on the team with attractive contracts + an expiring Maggette.

    We're left with:
    Bynum/ W. Russell
    Stuckey/ English/ Daye
    Prince/ Middleton/ Singler
    Jerebko/ Maxiell/ Villanueva/ Macklin
    Howard/ Russian guy/ Ben Wallace

We'd have everybody dropping off the books very quickly, except for Stuckey and Prince. Perfect to hit the FA market hard in 2014.

And there is no reason that Dwight Howard wouldn't love to come to Detroit to be the bedrock while Dumars work his magic.

Next season Howard calls his pal Paul who takes a discount to play in the Palace and suddenly we have the best PG and the best C in the league. That's a classic Joe Dumars.

I'm envisioning Gores doing it and including Dumars and a half eaten bucket of popcorn too.

According to a lot of articles, yes Howard talked to basketball executives and demanded a trade to the Nets, however the Nets were waiting for D. Howard medical records which is recovering from a back surgery, Howard might have a good reason on doing it but it's just cliche that he always do that and he doesn't have a fix decision to handle it on a long term basis.

From my understanding, D. Howard was required to pass the leg on the wall test before he returned to action.
