What would have happened if we had played both Illy and Dinwiddie? Other than the universe ceasing to exist, I mean.

One of the problems is that we have given up solid players like Kyle "Bucket Man" Singler. Don't tell me "Bucket Man" wouldn't have won at least on of these games for us.

OK that's just crazy and out of the box.
And if we got a win, Lee would perish.

You must be thinking of MM. Harris' deal isn't that great. It is certainly not cheap.

    Nice workup, by-the-way.
I agree with you about those old conservative minutes of bench replacements that Stan is attached to.
This means a whole different concept of game approach and Stan is to married to this unit and what he thinks they can bring.

Agree, this problem is with coaching and also Dre doesn't know how to use his lateral quickness (if he has any). Certainly, it must have been obvious to all, that Dre actually had some energy in running the floor in Game 2. After how many games?

Yep, and solving the above problems will be a high priority this summer. Lots of good talent that can help is out there. Gores is going to have to spend some money on some UFA, which will take us into the deep summer.

Tobias is having a sub-par series so far but without him, I'm thinking we're talking about the draft lottery rather than posting in playoff game threads.

Three years from now (2018-19), we will be paying Tobias $14.8 million. With the new CBA coming out, I think this will seem very cheap.

Right, I think it's just a matchup comment. Although, with BJ on the court, we scored 106.9 and gave up 102.7 this year. Without him, we scored 106.2 and gave up 106.3. Ie we were losers without BJ.

That is incredible since RJ was highly positive. So, in the Blake stints (only 25% of the minutes), we gave up all Reggie's gains of 2.4 and then a whole bunch more.

With Blake on the floor in the playoffs so far, our tov % is 22.7 and Cleveland's is 2.1.

With Reggie, we have a positive tov differential.

We have a backup PG problem.

I'd like to see us address this in free agency and use our #18 pick to perhaps draft a big.

I guess so...but Stan has built a nice team. It's not possible to be solid at every position this early in the process. Blake is who ended up filling the hole after Jennings left. So next year we can fill a couple of more holes but we aren't that team yet.

Just saying that he's making our team look worse than it is otherwise. We should feel good that our starters are competing with the Cavs.

This is true, but he somehow has managed to have 10 stretch PF's on the roster and 0 actual PF's since he's been here. I don't think it is unreasonable to have a PF on the team.

What is the difference between a stretch PF and a PF?

A PF can guard Love in the post.

I am pretty sure @Ernie the Slow Adult@Ernie the Slow Adult would call Ersan a stretch PF, but he did a great job defending in the post.

He's both, which is why he is so swell. Big body with range. He's like a poor man's K love.

Maybe, if you don't have a better RJ in this draft.
    Step it up, Bill.

    Thoughts......
Stan finally leaves Baynes on the bench and trots out a small lineup of the starters plus SJ instead of Drummond, who is a free throw liability.
This lineup seemed to me to perform well, yet SVG couldn't stand his Baynsie withdrawal for long enough to leave the "smallball" lineup in and possibly stay even. Is this an itch SVG couldn't scratch until he threw Baynes onto the court and received his requisite IMMEDIATE turnovers to let him know that....................what?
    Heck if I know.
Andre needs to work on his free throws. Casting off a bona fide shot specialist for Malik Allen, of All people, was a catastrophe in the making....obviously. SVGs patience in this matter, while respectable in my mind, should end immediately once the season is over. Drummond needs to be reminded of his weakness, every day. He should spend this summer shooting free throws...every day, instead of thinking he is some sort of "Olympian", just because other "bigs" are injured. Do you want a gold medal or a championship Andre? Decide now. Forgo the Olympics to work on YOUR GAME. You'll be here in 4 years....I guarantee it.
One observation - off the ball movement. Terrible....early offense is near impossible when every player off the ball runs to a spot and FREEZES.
I don't know why....it cannot be by design. Yet it is understandable. Jackson,Morris, Harris, especially Harris...played his entire life to get to this level of basketball. I think his struggles can be summed up by playoff nerves. Hopefully last night was a breakout evening for him.
I predict a hard fought Pistons win Sunday, even if they lose the series.
