The day that Dre develops mental toughness, is the day that we become a legit title contender.
I thought Drummond was pretty good yesterday. I think Morris has been solid. I think Stanley has been playing well. Bullock has done okay. If you've been watching all year, you can't expect much more from these guys than we are getting. The only one who has struggled some has been Harris and he is going head-to-head with LeBron for much of his time.
Then again, if we had a coach who cared one iota about winning the next game, he could just not play Blake or Baynes, and just like that have this team a ton better. PS, it was mentioned by the commentators, Detroit has the worst bench in the league in terms of minutes played and points scored. In other words, SVG must have spent pretty much the whole season trying to come up with a bench that bad.
I bet if our dumb coach would have simply played Dinwiddie against Kyrie Irving, we would be up 3-0 in the series already.
I think we would have won 4 - 0 already. Two such lopsided wins for us, they would have to count each one twice. But do not dream, SVG won't even consider your genius idea. SVG is too much enthralled by watching Delly score like a superstar (vs. Blake, he certainly looks like a superstar) to even possibly want to change anything.) My only comment on that though, if Blake is just going to spectate, along with his coach, both he and his coach should be ordered to buy tickets for the privilege.
Did you notice Blake was PLUS 6 in game #1?
Thought that LH didn't work out since retired and soon he'll grow like JD.
Diet pills will keep Lindsey slender.
Inconvenient fact that @Lee356 overlooked.
Did you notice that Bullock and SJ both hit 3 triples in game 1? That is a lot of bench production. Makes how bad Blake is not quite as readily noticed. Unless you pay just a scant bit of attention. Then you notice Blake making Delly look like an All Star.
RJ and Dre were the best Pistons on the floor last night...despite the missed FT by Dre... I will give KCP some credit too...even though I think JR may have made a couple of his 7 threes vs him. Baynes was MIA, Bloody nose Morris was lost out there.....Toby tried too hard, Blake and Tolliver was just plain bad and Stanley was doing his Jeckyl and Hyde (Hide) imitation...sometimes good, most of the time bad. Bullseye was good when he had the ball in his hands but that didn't happen that much.
If we have the worst bench and they play the least then coach is doing he best. I suppose SVG coulda built a better team in 2 seasons. What's he waiting for ?- These are the teams he's passed: NYK Brook Philly --you understand Chi Mil Wash Orl
I can and will absolutely expect more scoring from the 3/4 and more rebounding from one of the leading rebounders in the league for the 3rd year running. Marcus has been sub par. Harris is struggling, but I think part of that is spending a lot of time staring down Lebron. Stanley was awful yesterday. I want to see more Bullock but his impact on the games has been minimal. Drummond was fantastic for the first half. Then he was much less effective.
TT got in foul trouble at the very start. That's probably why.
Actually, Bullock only had 2 triples, but facts are never important to your story. Anyone who actually watched the game would know that it was Blake driving and kicking to those two guys that actually led to their triples.
My theory is that Lee is so busy playing tennis that he isn't actually watching the games. I think one of the Leecaps even mentioned how bad Illy was. I like the fight and the effort the Pistons are showing. Let's face it, Cleveland is stacked. They have a really deep team with really good players. No Dave Blatt....but still.
Exactly. If you mix all of the Cavs and Piston players together and we have a pick-up game where two captains start choosing up teams, the first 3 or 4 guys picked are all coming from the current Cleveland roster.
Tobias has been great and all, but wouldn't the Pistons be matching up better with Ily and BJ here? Ily to.hang with Love and Jennings to bring some attack off the bench.
Perhaps, but Jennings was going to walk away this summer and we were incredibly lucky to lock up Tobias for multiple years at great value. With Illy, we would have already lost the series.
The best thing for the Pistons is for Cavs to win it all. That way they get all greedy and need to break up that team.
