Is it just me or have the Pistons had a lot of time between games lately. HS teams play more often than this. Guarantee I'll forget they're playing by tomorrow.
The first 3 quarters of this game would be interesting. 4th will be all about who wants more balls. Time to test that all-guard lineup of Jose-Bynum-Knight-English-Stuckey. Knight will probably go off on this one and ruin it for everybody. He always seems to get motivated going against Irving.
It could be. The draft position is no guarantee but it is very, very important whatever happens to the ping pong balls. The Pistons got Monroe at the 7 in that 2010 draft. The team won some games at the end if I recall and fell in the draft order. It was pure luck to get Monroe Joe wanted Cousins who is very talented. Cousins went at the 5th pick. Monroe was still there at the 6th pick but Udoh was chosen. Lucky. What if the Pistons drafted 8th? The Clippers took Aminu after them. The point is that one position may mean getting a real franchise piece or just another player. Now Joe could blow the pick as he did with Darko. He really didn't blow the pick per se. He never saw him play. Keep in mind the Pistons were to use that pick at about the 6th position and so maybe he didn't do the scouting that he is hopefully doing right now. His error was drafting someone that high who he never saw play. Evan Turner was taken at the 2 in that 2010 draft. That was a GM error. A few other errors allowed Monroe to fall. I have confidence in Joe not blowing the pick if the Pistons wind up in the top 5. The core of Monroe, Drummond and this year's pick is a solid foundation for the future. It is real. Selling a 15th pick, Stuckey, in the recent past, as the face of the franchise was not. Very few picks at the 15 wind up being all stars. A few, but not many. Maxiel? 25 th pick. Afflalo: 28th pick. Daye? 15th pick. The draft order is important. I have more confidence in Joe's draft selections than in the veterans he has brought in in recent years.
The difference between #4 and #5 in the standings may be small (3%) to get the #1 pick but its fairly large when you factor in picks 2-4. I know people balk at tanking but this team has played so uninspired so often this year that i wouldnt know the difference. I'm sure the cavs will out underperform us. speaking of the cavs, they have 3 top 4 picks and is gunning for another. and they still look like they're going nowhere.
I am on Direct TV and usually get both teams feeds on my LP...so can always listen to Blaha and Kelser.... I use to love Freddy Mac during the championship season...
