The only problem with this theory is that teams actually do much worse against the Pistons with Baynes in the lineup compared to when Drummond is in the lineup. The statistics back this up in a significant way.

He played around with his knee guard quite a bit late in the 4th when the Cavs had to inbound in the Pistons end.

    You're learning. Welcome to Pistonsforum.com!

The irony is that Baynes has a ring, and played meaningful minutes to win it and every year we have to hear about Amir Johnson.

He smokes same stuff clueless Pop does. Baynsey averaged more minutes when the San Antonio village idiot coached him.

I don't know what you mean. Every single prediction I have made that I choose to remember has been spot on.

Baynes was with the Spurs for 3 years, and they won the championship only once. In the year they won, Baynes played in only 3 of the 4 wins in the Finals. So it is obvious that Spurs won that year despite Pops's agenda of playing Baynes at all costs. They easily could've gone 3-for-3 during those years if it weren't for Baynes. Baynes owns Duncan 2 more championships.

Just to put this disaster in perspective, Darko was with the Pistons only 2.5 seasons and during his tenure the Pistons won a championship, almost repeated the next year and made it to the ECF the following year. If Darko wasn't traded, we certainly would've made the Finals 3 years in a row.

Why you don't go just with Occam's razor principle?

You have a future in politics. You can work my spin room any day.

    1. Occam's Razor isn't a lot of fun.
    2. Lee doesn't do non-conspiratorial theories (God bless him for that!)
    3. Simple answers = less forum content. Work with me please.

He was dunking very ferociously last night. The Pistons were not intimidated.

The hacking was more of a ploy last year when all-star Dre was more dominant and the flatfooted Baynes skill sets were questionable.

The games of both players have changed this season with Dre being less aggressive and more passive. He is not a threat to block the ball under the hoop or even swat a ball when chasing a guy outside the paint. He is dominant on the boards and especially on the offensive end. Baynes although no force on the boards provides a wider body to bang with the opposing centers, provides screens, can hit the straightaway shot when no one is expecting him to shoot and will of course hit the his freebies. He is the perfect compliment as the season progresses...but on occasion, both can stink it up.

I can't recall if Lue used it in last years playoffs or not, but the way Reggie and Dre were playing last night, I may have tried it.....

I'm just grateful none of the Pistons got too friendly with his pectoral muscles after the game.

Every coach that hacks Dre definitely does it to get Dre out of the game. They know SVG doesn't leave him in.

Boy are they going to be surprised when SVG leaves him in during Game 7 of the NBA Finals!

This makes more sense. No coach has the luxury of hoping that an action might result in a desirable reaction that the other coach may or may not take.

They did it in every playoff game and this is where Van Gundy's genius shined because Baynsey proved to be too big a stiff to play as well (2.5 pts 2 boards a game!) so they had to go with Harris at the 5.

He has to be the least imposing starting 4 man in the L. Channing Frye looked like prime era Shaq next to him. (I still can't get over the fact that Van Gundy was dreaming about signing him. I think about that every day.)

Leuer just needs to hit his threes. He's shooting worse than Charlie V from deep. His mid range game seems OK.

To be fair, Channing Frye has been a great long distance shooter for many years. He's a one trick specialist.

He needs to defend better. I don't care about scoring. We won the game last night with defense.

Leuer finds open spots, and scores easy baskets when passers find him.
