Austin Carr gets a pass for life, I suppose, for the Charlie Garbage nickname.

He sounds exactly what I imagine Tommy "Hitman" Hearns to sound like if he was working the game.

    Good job Cheecks!
And you could easily see Brandon doing a much better job of attacking the paint on the pick and roll.

The NBA is an offensive league during the regular season with the schedules, travel and wear and tear. If you look around the league, it is amazing to see how many 100+ games there are. The Pistons score in bunches like everyone else for most of the game. This does not mean they have a real offense. Look at what happens in 4th quarters where the half-court game becomes necessary. Ask yourself, what do the Pistons do when they need a basket? Watch the ball movement (what little there is in crunch time). How often do the Pistons get to the line in such situations? How often do they run a play? How often do they hit a key three? How often do they get into the lane? Then watch other teams handle the same situations.

Of course, some of the Piston half court offensive droughts are do to personnel. Little three point shooting. Little guard penetration (though Jennings is improving). Youth (Andre) and Monroe is still not a go-to guy. No real scorer at shooting guard except when Stuckey plays with the first unit--but Stuckey does not really spread the floor with his game--that is a problem. Or Singler as the answer for more offense. What the Pistons do, inevitably, is let Josh go one on one or Jennings go one on one or Stuckey go one on one.

Some of this lack of half-court offense though is the lack of any sort of system, apparently, to allow for some movement to put defenses at a disadvantage.

Yes, the Pistons score a lot of points but when they really need to score to secure games in the 4th quarter, the team struggles. The Piston record should be a few games above .500. I don't look at statistics like plus/minus for players or total points. You can look at three point shooting, assists, free throw shooting and the like to get an idea but not much more--most stats are iffy.

Yes, for sure the defense allows penetration and has been really spotty--agree with that point.

So we score the most in 16 years, but the timing is off.
