Actually they are 5-3 (62.5%) on the season in games where he double-doubles, including wins over Boston, OKC, and Indy. Which is much better than their season record % of 32.8 (21-43).

Comparing the two players for this season, Willliams has Baynes covered almost everywhere. I've highlighted some key metrics such as PER, WS/48mins (the figure you are most interested in) and Box +/-
    upload_2017-3-8_18-27-53.png

The per 36 min numbers are no contest apart from FT% and TO.

2.5 points and 2 boards per game in the playoffs last year.

errr unless I am missing something here...... Folks your debating on whether to keep a quality STARTER or a BACKUP.... Baynes is going to get paid this summer and if it is us... we will be paying way to much for one postition... Now if you put signing Baynes / trading Dre for a SG then letting our Starter go is a debatable topic.

The Pistons were down 10 points when Mighty Aaron Baynes entered the gamein the 1st Q. They were down 8 when he came out. Van Gundy gets fixated on the pace quickening and the ball going in the hoop without realizing what is happening on the other end.

Baynsey takes himself in and out of games at this point.

    Thanks.

I didn't really want to know, I wanted to make the point that winning and losing matters more than statistical performance.

They aren't always correlated, see Anthony Davis and Boogie Cousins. Great statistical performers, no one will confuse them for winners.

I just do not understand people who can't grasp that Dre is the greatest thing to happen to Detroit since Vinnie Johnson's 007 shot in the Finals.

Dre could do for the Pistons what Marbury was able to do for the Knicks.

Aron Baynes was too valuable for Detroit Pistons to trade for a pick

Baynes is the anchor of a second unit that has excelled most of this season. The team performs better defensively when he is on the floor. He has the highest net rating on the team (6.0) -- subtracting his defensive rating (99.1) from his offensive rating (105.1). He has the best plus-minus rating of the regulars (2.2).

Dre and Boban were on the trading block. Who knows what will happen.

Andre, Aron and Boban are a nice "problem" to have. If you use them wisely they might cause real problems for the other teams. However, Boban so far has been just an ace in a hole.

It's not enough to have talent in your disposition. You have to be an artist yourself to know how to utilize it.

So, you're saying that Stan should play all three at the same time?

No, not necessarily. Just try to find minutes for all three of them.

However, I don't mind to see two them playing at the same time in some particular situations.

They tried that remember? Big starting lineup in Utah, Baynes starting at PF to bang with Derrick Favors. Final score: 77-110 loss
