This is the team thats getting our pick too.
Last year was frustrating because we went most of the season without trying Monroe and Drummond together. It ultimately got the coach fired. Drummond was obviously our best player and his minutes were restricted as he came off the bench. This season is frustrating because we haven't tried separating Smith/Monroe/Drummond as every analyst has been suggesting that we do (even before the season started). It got the coach fired. Smith has had his worst year ever and nobody has even attempted to stop him from shooting sub 30% from the perimeter. Why won't the Pistons at least try the obvious solutions? I understand not experimenting for the sake of experimenting, but we're bucking conventional wisdom every single game.
@max is really twisting the knife! This was a bad loss. I was legitimately depressed last night.
Me too. You can get beated one night, but you can't not adjust your faults to face the same team the day after. I can't stand it.
Don't blame the coach, this team simply don't have the personnel to hang with teams of Charlottes caliber.
Common denominator? Joe?
Is it time to adopt the just lose baby attitude?? There are 28 games left...I checked the schedule we would be lucky if we won 1 of the next 4 As for April, the team is it's current mode would close out that month either losing all 8 or going 1-7. So a chance that the 8th spot is probably a lock, with the Cavs and the Knicks edging by us soon and chance at # 7 is probable if the Jazz can wake up...
No one else thought of that? They get to knock us out of the playoffs and take our lottery pick.
I had thought of that. I was talking more the general tone of your last several posts. You have been nailing some one liners lately.
Which players would you say lacked effort. Just how much effort did it take for Singler to go an entire half without scoring, without getting an assist, without getting a rebound, without affecting one play on either end of the floor? Me, I say Singler gave lots of effort. Of staying out of the way where the coach put him. The other players, they did pretty darn good trying to play 4 on 5 basketball all night with Singler spectating. Worst effort of the night though, on an individual play, was Stuckey not negotiating a pick, as per usual, and then making zero effort to recover out to the shooter.
I didn't see Stuckey check anyone last night. If his man was more than 4 feet from him he just stopped and followed the arc of the ball from the shooters hand to the bottom of the hoop. It was just a plain terrible lack of defensive overall effort on his part. With all the hustle and effort Singler puts forth, he always seems to be a half step slow in stopping his man, grabbing a board or making the key layup or getting a put back. However I trust his shot from the corner 100% more than Coke Zero Pope Zero.
Singler was way more productive than Monroe and Smith in this game.
Special K and Blaha were crediting Stuckey for double-teaming Jefferson last night in a replay when I'm pretty sure he was just standing there.
I was more than productive last night than both Mornoe and Smith were in both games vs the Bobcats. Our bigs got out Jeffersoned on back to back nights and add the game we lost to them earlier in the season, I would go out on a limb and say that we will probably lose to the Jeffersonians the next two years until Dre and whomever replaces Smith/Monroe can beat an older/slower Al....
Since you are entitled to be biased towards the coach and Singler, i think i am entitled to be biased towards the players. So i say: Horrid playing. No effort from the players at all
Let's get to losing!
Lee, when was the last time you made a gamethread post that didn't mention Singler?
