This is a much improved team. If you don't bring your "A" game they will send us back to Tha "D" with an "L"!

I expect the Jennings/Walker matchup to be very entertaining.

We may pull out tufts of hair but we seem to do a fairly good job on frontlines who work with the ball in their hands. We have a problem keeping track of movement off ball.

10 of our 13 wins have been against teams with losing records. Have to continue beating teams that you are supposed to beat. But more importantly they need to start winning at the palace and taking advantage of the home turf. So far we are better on the road....

No let down tonight ... we win and get back to >.500!!

Since we'll be a road team in the playoffs, it's good that it's actually a strong suit of ours. Also, it points to mental toughness.

I am going to modify that a bit, and say we have beaten 4 "500" teams. Because, if we had lost to Washington, they would be 12 -12 right now. Similarly, Boston would be 14 -13 right now without two losses to us.

And note, our two, actual wins, over "500" teams, were against two of the League"s very best, Miami and Indiana.

We need this W to get some air between us and Charlotte in the standings. It would be awesome if we could finnish at the 5th seed, because that would almost guarantee some 2nd round playoff basket for us. The 5th seed gets to play whatever scrub teams that comes out of the Atlantic Division. (Celtics, Nets, Knicks, Raptors, 76ers)

    That being said, Pistons by 13. 101 - 88.

Horrible horrible loss after being up by near 20 in the 3rd. Getting outscored 41-14 in the 4th. This team collapses in the 4th quarter again. Mo better do some serious thinking.

41-14?? Nasty. We would have blown a 30 point lead tonight.

    I think we got Bismacked.

They put in Biyumbo halfway though the fourth, and the Pistons never recovered.

Lot of good stuff. Until coach's obsession would not let him see the obvious, that Singler was not the right choice to replace Drummond. Harrellson had a fine game going. Singler had a good stretch in the 2nd half playing shooting guard, and doing a decent enough job guarding Henderson. But then he went to small forward, and it just did not work out. But still, the coach put him back at small forward to end the game, and it did not work out at all.

Singler was just minus 7 for the game.

Stuckey still injured, so we went, way too long in my opinion, with Bynum and Billups in the backcourt. Billups did hit a three in the first half, but did not do much after that. Bynum got a couple of buckets and a feed to Drums inside.

Smith and Jennnings had good games, and Monroe a solid one despite getting stripped or blocked a few to many times. Drums had another monster double double for naught. Pope had a decent game going, but he was pulled for almost the whole 2nd half until the end of it.

We contained Jefferson very well in the 1st half. For some reason, we went away from using Drummond to guard him late and made him look like a superstar. Oh, thats right, coach had to have Singler in the game.

Singler did nail 3 triples. Again, he did play some good enough D on Henderson there to start the 2nd half. But hey, to imagine that he can replace Drummond for you? Yeah, IF coach was not obsessed with the guy, he would have taken him out after subbing for Pope for a while, and went with Harrellson as a sub for our front line. And I would then be saying simply, good game Singler, as he had done well up to that point. PS, and since Pope was well rested, he really should have been in along side Billups when Billups came in for Jennings in the 3rd. Billups and Bynum? We do not need two points in at once.

Harrellson looked both great on defense and offense, a plus 11 for the game. He hit a couple of triples, another shorter jumper, drove in and pulled up for a short jumper, and hit one jumper from the baseline. Plus he drove in really well to dump the ball off inside to Monroe. Showed a lot tonight.

    Houston tomorrow night.

Embarassing loss. Coaching loss. You could see that Charlotte had no quit tonight. But the coach, after the Pistons held off a surge in the 3rd quarter, had his second unit on the court when Charlotte's second unit began playing some defense. The coach was coaching as if the game were put away. Billips (who will always be a Piston champion) was playing poorly again. Bynum was doing nothing. When the lead started to dwindle, Billips lost the ball twice--the lead was all but gone--almost given away. The coach did put the starters back in relatively early but the momentum was all gone.

Notice that Pope, was not in for defense. Notice that Drummond was not guarding Jefferson late. Why? Notice that Charlotte scored 41 in the quarter.

Notice that the Piston 4th quarter offense is all but non-existent as I have mentioned on the other give away loses. There is little motion in the Piston offense. No apparent go to plays. The Pistons went down to Josh when it was all but too late. No drive to the hoop to get to the line to break runs. Notice the Pistons scored 17 points.

Sure, in the coach's defense, the Pistons are still inexperienced. Andre is not a go to guy yet and Monroe is spotty when you need a hoop. But you put in a crunch time offense with the personnel that you have. And you never coach as if the game is in the bag--not with an inexperienced team with little evident 4th quarter offense.

Yeah, coach really has an obsession. He needs to get over it before he becomes blind to everyone else on the team.

Too much Billups and Bynum in this one cost us the game. Pick one of them and keep the other for emergency purposes. I prefer Bynum. Bynum with Harrellson, Drummond, Singler and Pope.

Monroe is a good basketball player but when he sucks....HE SUCKS!!! Walker burned us tonight but it wasn't because Jennings was playing bad defense, the bigs (save for Harrellson) NEVER showed on the pick!!! It was embarrassing! It's a shame that Harrellson is 10x's better than Smith, Monroe and Drummond on defense, he's the only one that is in position on defense.
