LB must be licking his chops at this oppurtunity to perhaps oust the Pistons from the playoff picture. The Bobcats are 1 game behind the Pistons for the final playoff spot. Who would have thought it would come down to this?

as I posted to previus GDT, in longterm it may be better to miss POs. No hard feelings.

Raja Bell might not be playing. We might not get burned by 3s in this game.

Man I hope we win this one. Even though we are probably not going to do much in the playoffs not watching the Pistons play in the playoffs would be depressing, haha. It would be good experience for Stuckey and Bynum to see how they measure up during a 7 game series.

I'm all for making the playoffs. Not much difference between the 14th pick and the 16th pick...

The Pistons are only two point favorites in this game and the bookies tend to spot the home team 3 points... meaning that they don't even favor us in a neutral situation. Man, we have fallen hard.

I'd rather watch the Bobcats be sacrificed in the first round instead of the Pistons. The Bobcats can at least be proud of getting to the playoffs if they make it.

Watching a team on its way down get whipped in the first round is not fun.

T dat, the playoffs mean a certain level of acheivement (not having to hear from Charlotte fans who proclaim, "oh yeah? Well at least the Bobcats made the playoffs!" and it wouldn't be the same without em but they'd get smoked by anyone in the playoffs forget about Cleveland or Boston.

I love Rip but sometimes he can piss me off. If we lose this game, all the blame should on him seriously. Why would you get a tech and get kicked out of the game. That doesn't make sense at all. Hope we pull it out!

Will Bynum just set a new Pistons record, breaking the single quarter scoring record jointly held by Jerry Stackhouse and Isiah Thomas.

    Fantastic. Superb chat too.

In a rare occurrance, Curry coached for a win tonight.

Bynum was hot, and Curry left him in.

The perfectly logical combination of JMAX, who is a power forward, and Sheed, who is a center, was left in to close out the game. He could not make the mistake of bringing Rip back in for Afflalo, since Rip picked up his second tech at the end of the 3rd quarter after not doing all that much - though he was our top scorer at that point.

Herrmann was left out of the 2nd half, after, yes, hitting one three in the first half, but then making a series of defensive errors / non able to do's that killed a darn good rally we had going.

32 points for Bynum, 26 in the 4th quarter. Wow. A new Piston record for 4th quarter points. All clutch. Every last one of them. Double wow.

Oh yes, with this win, the playoffs are almost assured. It puts us up 3 games on Charlotte, and we win the tie breaker with them. So we would for instance have to lose out to miss the playoffs while Charlotte wins 3 of 5.

And who knows, if Curry will coach for one win, just perhaps he will actually care in the playoffs.

This was a game of runs. Charlotte went up 10-2 to start. We put on a major run, with Charlotte missing 13 of 14 to end the 1st quarter. We got up to a 17 point lead at one point. (we subbed in JMAX and Bynum for the last 4 minutes of 1st quarter. But our starters began the run.)

Then Charlotte picked up a total of 23 points on us to go up by 6. That was all with us playing two centers. So Curry was at his level headed best trying to lose this one. Thank goodness he found some common sense in the 4th quarter and let the team win a game.

Stuckey did some nice stuff. Just nothing like Bynum. Afflalo hit all his shots I believe, getting double digits to go with very sound perimeter D. Kwame not much. Actually, since we overused our centers so much in the first half, his presence in the game really hurt us rather than helped.

Tay played good D and scored inside some. Sheed maybe shot too many threes, but he also did a lot of damage closer in.

JMAX mostly just played good D. He did get a dunk or two.

Amir did not play in this one. He sure could have been useful though. At small forward spelling Tay.
