If somehow we got Al Jefferson out of the deal, I'd say go Joe go.

Laughable... Ainge is still hurting from helping out Joe D in 04.

I like the idea of Rondo next to Rodney. However, this deal is crazy. There had to be something more?

Who knows how much of this is true? But Pistons would be giving up too much in this arrangement if it was true.

I applaud the C's for what they're attempting to do here. There have been too many rumors regarding Rondo and Allen for there not to be some truth to them.

Hopefully this trade doesn't go down on draft night while Joe is constructing the Pistons du Roma.

It's basically dumping salary for 2010 (Rip and Tay) and upgrading Stuckey to Rondo, which depending on your opinion of Stuckey (and Rondo) may or may not be an upgrade.

Joe could quite literally take team salary down to around $20 million for 2010.

There is another way to look at this. Joe might use Ainge's desire to trade, as possible leverage in a multi-team deal. Someone might rather have Allen's expiring than a valuable player or two.

Obviously it's a horrible trade from a Pistons fans perspective, but it's also a great opportunity for a team trying to start from scratch.

It was a good try by Ainge to see if we were ready to blow things up.

I kind of look at it this way...Stuckey and Rondo are a wash. Rip and Tay for Allen is just another AI type deal to clear money. If it weren't so blatantly lop sided I would be tempted, but he is basically saying "let me ride your guys to another championship and good luck in the lottery"

Be interesting scenario from a trade aspect.

Don't know about the rest of you all. For me - 1 year of salary dumping was enough. Gets to the point where you have to have something for FA's to want to come to.

I don't really expect Dumars to do much more dumping - maybe an extra few mil or so. I have a feeling that 2010 is going to turn out to be a big bust. Everyone but Bosh is going to probably going to stay where they are with half the league making him offers.

Watching this roster might be the only thing worse than watching John and [strike]Kate[/strike] plus 8.

Ainge must be still suffering from the mental health condition that he had back in 2004 when we got Rasheed in that lopsided deal. He must have also developed a crack addiction too after that weak trade proposal.

Like Roscoe mentioned in his post, maybe this is the preview of a larger trade that may go down now that it's out that Allen and Rondo are on the block. I am sure that someone would love Allen's expiring contract.

Undoubtedly you are thinking of a Pistons "big three" of Allen, Rondo and Mullens?

I wonder what made the trade not possible. Tay or Stuckey?

Banking it all in 2010 would be exciting, but you truly never know what is going to happen, except Lebron is going to a Knick.

I'd do Rip for Ray Allen though, try to include Jason Maxiell.

This team can just easily pay for Leon Powe or actually might start to give Amir minutes.

He's scared that the Lakers might actually reach 17............or just straight up past them while Celtics still have KG.

If you believe that spending flexibility is the ultimate goal then it's a good trade. You can put a team on the floor for only a couple of million if you don't care about the games. Why you would do that is another thing.

It could all be rumor. Or it could be Ainge, feeling pretty good about his wheeling and dealing skills after the past two years, and getting a little cocky. It would be a great trade for Boston, but...

Joe might be well served to present a counter-offer of Amir, Walt Sharpe and the rights to Trent Plaisted for KG, Pierce, and Shuttlesworth.

It honestly has about as much merit.
