almost have to cry or laugh at this line from the article

"When you get a special group of guys like that, you don't really give up on it that fast," he said.

did he not get the memo in june? and as much as i was ok with this group getting another shot.. at the same time they failed 3 years running at getting to the finals.... I think Dumars showed great patience....

Laugh. 6 years is not long enough? How many teams get that many shots? And the "Give up on it" part is funny. He acts like we got back Kelvin Cato.

It's so great that Billups will be making dumb comments in another city now. AI is a lot better with the media, miles better.

I like the part on how he is all about winning. Up until May that is. Also about looking forward to playing an up temo game. Wasn't he a big reason why we played from half court so much?

I can't slam him too much though. Without him we never would have made it as far as we did. So close but they could not close the deal. Guess thats the difference between good and great. Between an all-star and a legend. They had it all and let it slip through their fingers time and time and time again. Regulated to be a one and done in 04.

I will welcome AI this Sunday.

He said he's anxious to show people he can push the ball and play another style. If he does it effectively (like he did some in 04), then it wasn't him holding the offense back . . .

i dont think it was a matter of trading the guy who was at fault for holding us back or whatever. more of a matter of what made the most business sense.

If you read the context of the quote, I think it's clear he was talking about this deal getting done so early in the season (After 2 games). Not so early as in 6 years being early. He was talking about this team with this coach. Let's not put words into his mouth.

this "special" group of players has been together for the better part of 6 years.... and i did read the article in its fullness.... you are assuming also if you think he means just 2 games....

it is what it is.... this team has fallen flat on its face 3 straight years..... Dumars said he was looking to make serious change and told all his players of his intent months ago, if he didn't get it then... I suppose he gets dumars point now. he had Two years as caption to fix the switch problem after what happened 3 years ago.

I'll miss him and I am grateful for what he did for the team helping to bring us out of that period we like to forget called the Teal (sp?) years.

He now joins players such as Ben, Rodman, and Hill, there not my players... so i root against them till they retire, then I'll forget they ever played anywhere but here :winner_first_h4h:

I read in the Denver Post how CB was looking forward to pushing the ball more and running some fast-breaks.
    -I find this HILARIOUS!

I'm trying not to kick C-Bill as he's walking out the door but C'mon smooth?!

As good as Chauncey is (and he IS good), he's one of the absolute WORST PGs that I've ever seen at making a "scoring pass" on a fast break.

I think Sheed is a better fast break passer. He is really good in getting the rebound and immediately sending long passes to Tay and Rip.

Anybody that can throw a 100 foot strike like that has got to be a great outlet passer!

There was an article that came out after this that said he hit him in the groin. He was trying to hit him in back which is why thy ran an laughed. They weren't expecting that.

    Interesting post on the HOU message board; grain of salt and all but apparently we were contemplating another trade before the AI deal;

There Was An Offer from Detroit for TMac

Thank god that didn't go down.
