I am OK with Canada winning, but not with Sidney Crosby scoring the the winning goal.....I guess I am still mad because his team beat the Red Wings last year..

Congratulations to Canada! Congratulations to the USA!

Right before the goal, I told my wife, "Please don't let Crosby score the winning goal...anyone but Cros...". Then he scored.

    Great game!

it was a heck of a game, with the tie coming 20+ seconds before thend of regulation. Unfortunately in sports there has to be a winner and a second place. I was very happy to see North America take gold and silver in hockey. Now its up to europe to give chase.

Congrats to the Canadians for gaining the most gold medals ever in a single winter olympics.

Re: Canadians Reamed, use home cooking to take gold

It's fortunate the Cans. have Stevy Y. and Babcock to guide their nations sport. And no heads will roll due to the fortunate home cooking the Cans. got from the refs.
...I didn't want our friends to the north to go into a deep-freeze mode due to the catastrophe of a hockey game loss. They probably would've remained shut-ins until spring as they wouldn't have had the strength to shovel snow. And that would've killed their GDP. :cold:

That's good. I thought I was going to have to come on here and apologize for jinxing us with my "foreshadowing" post after the ladies won. Now I realize - it was your fault.

Great game. The U.S. has a heck of a team. Very good and very young as well. They'll be a force for years to come.

When the U.S. scored their first goal to make it 2-1 in the 2nd period I said that the U.S. would tie it in the last minute and either Parise or Kesler would be the one to score.

I wasn't feeling great about our chances. Ryan Miller was playing excellent hockey and Luongo was looking shaky.

Not at all. I'm being Canadian! :pound:

I actually really like the American players. I traded for Kesler, Backes & Parise in my NHL 10 for PS3 Be A GM League, who are all only 25 years old.

You also have Patrick Kane who's only 21, Phil Kessel and Bobby Ruan who are both 22, and Erik and Jack Johnson on D who are 21 and 23 respectively.

That is a quality YOUNG team.

I feel like there is less Red Wing chatter on the forum this year.

Only one team in hockey with more points right now.

and all this in spite of injuries. All lines have somebody at IL, even goalies.

Red Wings rosters is more like Grand Rapids right now.
