Defensively, the Pistons were a mediocre team at best. Take away Drummond and Knight and the team defense is plain putrid.

Detroit gave up 36 points in the 1st quarter. It is not pretty.

Even Stackhouse is filling it up against our no-d...

Calderon has "flu like symptons" but is sitting there on the bench trying to give it to the guys next to him....Middleton and Villanueva:confused:

Besides Drummond, is there any Piston player who you would consider "above average" on defense?

Knight & English. Middleton looks OK at the 3, but gets burned at the 2. Bynum/BoT/Maxiell/Stuckey are just unserviceable.

Edit: You know what, Ill throw in Monroe as well. He is no Garnett/Ho/Cousins, but he sure as hell isn't David Lee/Robin Lopez either. He has really quick hands and is pretty smart with his positioning in the post.

Pistons shooting 55% in the first qtr and were still down 13 at the end of one.
    Half time stats
    0-10 from beyond the arc
38 of their 45 points were in the paint. 2/16 outside the paint.
3/4 from the FT line compared to their 14 FT
Also saw a little bit of the En Vogue half time show too....only one of original four members were on the court.....The others refused to show up?

Is there some benefit that I'm unaware of to repeatedly sagging in the paint off of 3 point shooters until they've hit at least 10 of them?

30 pt lead....and...I'm done. I'm officially off the fence....there is no reason Lawrence Frank should be back.

35 point deficit, may as well sit Monroe before gets hurt, and then you will have all of your lottery picks out.... May as well play Slava, Middleton, English, CV and Magette the rest of the game....

Not sure if this was the Pistons worst loss of the season or not...with so many, I can't keep track....but they lost by 37 and at one point the deficit was about 42 or so.

Yep they were undermanned out there, but even if they had Kobe on their side, the defense was not going to let even a stellar performance by him get a victory.:toilet:

Will Bynum and Monroe led the Pistons with 18 and 17 points and of course, they also led with -28 in the +/- relevance.

Stat of the night...Pistons 1/18 from beyond the arc. .... 52 of their 82 points were in the paint....in contrast the Nets scored 42 of their 119 points in the paint which means their shots from the outside found the hoop and the Pistons shots from outside clanked in process of building that brick wall.:playball:

Obviously we need to put LFrank out of his misery and send him back home to take care of his ailing wife. Brian Hill should probably lend a hand do that Joe can tryout Dee Brown at the helm for the rest of the month.

Yeah between the horrible starts last 2 seasons and now this free fall. Man, I just don't see Frank making it.

The Pistons played tonight, and lost by 37 at home. That's impressive no matter how you slice it.

With everyone healthy and playing well, this might be a playoff team. Without Drummond, team is bad. With Knight, Drummond, and Calderon all on the sidelines, this has to be the worst team in the league and probably one of the worst teams of all time.

It is straight up scary how much of a difference Drummond makes in how this team competes. And its not just defense. Teams have to pack the lane to stop him from stealing, literally, all of the boards and ending up with espn highlight reel putback. Which means we get super open looks from every where.

Also, Bynum is only player on the team who knows how to run a pick and roll. Thats not good.

I don't see the purpose of piling on Frank, at this point. The roster was weak before Drummond and Knight got hurt. The current cast of characters are not going to compete with talented teams, irregardless of the coach. Frank should be given a chance to see what he can do with a real roster.

I got to hand it to the Pistons, they're going down in flames.

How big of a loser do you have to be if you're an NBA coach who leaves their team for 2 weeks in the middle of the season and no one, not the fans or the media, wonders where you are or writes about it? I miss John Kuester. Frank is a bum!

What was fun to watch. A bunch of drives by Monroe in a row that went in. Middleton setting up his teammates better than anyone else on our squad. English hustling and scoring.

What nobody tuned in for. JMAX. Too old to fit our future. Calderon. Too old to fit our future. Bynum. (Minus 28) Too old to fit our future.

With Knight out, Bynum hurting, and Calderon ill, we still did not see English and Middleton paired up early. They went to Singler and JJ first. By the time we saw a promising young combo of wing players out there, we were down 30 with just a quarter left to play.

Stuckey drives in way too much without looking to pass. It gets way too obvious. But then again, our coaches have him conditioned to never pass the ball, as they never have let him be the point guard this season with shooters to pass the ball to. Bynum calls his own shot way too much too.

A very forgetful game. We started falling back early and just never got into the game at all. I don't like to mention the other team much, but I will mention Blatche was my pick that year for our draft choice. Of course, Dumars would have looked at him after 3 years and decided that he was not going to be worth keeping. (another cap move would have been made.)

Drummond? A good player. But remember, with our non-functional bench led by Bynum, Drummond was always negative. Drummond had to play with Bynum at point, and worse, guys like CV along side him as the power forward. Yeah, nope, Bynum would not have saved us this game. This game, he would have to put up with JJ along side him at power forward.
