In Laimbeer's mind, that wasn't even a shooting foul.

In the fall away, Bill Laimbeer fell sideways as he tripped over Rodman. His arm, out for balance, collared Bird.
No foul IMHO............Isiah shoulda kicked bird in the Taters, instead of consoling him.

Irregardless, I call it a foul. But I agree, especially after the last replay it doesn't look intentional, and I don't think it's such a slam dunk that he gets ejected. And after watching Bird's punches on Laimbeer, it's safe to say that contrary to the announcer's opinion, Bird throwing the ball isn't the only thing that got him ejected.

That is way, way less deserving of a flagrant foul than what Chuckle's did to the other Isiaah or however you spell it Thomas a few weeks ago. A much cleaner play.

Bird was a bad boy. The slow white boy stuff became legend, but he had no problem scuffling with Rodman. His response of "Yeah, and I was just throwing the ball to the ref." after a reporter told him that Laimbeer claims he was trying to hold him up has always been a favorite of mine.

"Larry Bird would not have been ejected if he didn't throw the ball." Dick Stockton

When was this game played, 1930? Mike Breen's voice would be higher than a dog whistle if he were calling this game. It's amazing how calm it seems despite what's going on. It seems like it took 3 minutes for them to even mention the ejections.

Classic heel turn by Laimbeer stomping his feet with his fists balled when he realizes he got tossed. "I didn't do anything!!!" It's like David Stern was paying him.

Ah those were the days.... The Pistons had eachothers back. I like it how Rodman went after Bird when he threw the ball at Laimbeer. They were a tight group, you touched one player and the rest of the team went after you. Not like the bunch of pussies they are now a days.

1: Keep Rondo out of the paint
2: Offensive rebounds (for the Pistons)
3: Monroe, Max, and Drummond need to work the Celtics bigs (and keep up with them on the Defensive end)

    I will predict a KG vs CV multiple-ejection, throw-down.

Villanueva and Daye have defined themselves as the enforcers on this team with their flagrants. We'll see if KG is man enough to go near them.

When Charlie takes down KG, the Laimbeer/Bird takedown will look like a touch foul.

Another victory for the Pistons means another loss for the naysayers.

    Good show!

Drummond keeps showing that he is the one and only dominator - 16 pts (5/6fg, 6-8ft), 7 boards,1 blk, 1 stl in a shade over 20 minutes. P/36 this is allstar production against Garnett, who is not a defensive slouch. I like alley oops as well. :)

Monroe had a great game. 15/11/5. Ill take that every game from him. Saw a few Dre/Moose minutes as well which was nice.

Brandon. Not all good. He scored well, tossed a few assists out then and grabbed boards. But 7 turnovers? He has to look after the ball better.

Hack a Dre wins the day? Thanks to the Celtics' tactics, Andre led the team in scoring for the first time this season. That one bit them hard.

Bynum to Dre is officially Will's ticket to infinite playing time. Didn't like the stretch where he was taking literally all the shots though that was predictable.

Brandon (and Rondo) had really bad nights on the TO front. Par for the course for Brandon against Boston though; he had a 0 assist 6 turnover game against them last year (and this year). He's at least able to contain Rondo better defensively now though. Too bad really, he started out really well then got out of control in the third.

Rodney was the Invisible Collider. 3 points, 1 assist, 2 TOs.

Greg really needs to stop throwing those Collider-esque shots up there. They're not going to call the foul on that no matter how loudly you yell and one, man. Had a quiet double double.

Austin and BoT = no PT in the second half. Both played badly, but more so Austin "Is it 2012 again?" Daye - 1 point, 1 assist, 3 fouls in 4 minutes; at least the BoT hit a three or two.

    Andre is awesome. Bears repeating.

Maxi = no time in the fourth.

Kyle played well, enough so coach didn't pull him for Rodney at the 4 minute mark in the second half.

Tay was good. Did a pretty good job on Pierce.

Stuckey is superfluous on this team, especially with Will smartly developing chemistry with Andre. Too bad no one not named Dumars seems to want him.

Looks like the Pistons have the Celtics #...thats four straight wins over the C's. I didn't see the first half, but other than allowing the Celtics to come within 4 near the end of the third quarter, the Pistons controlled the second half leading by as many as 17 points. The Bynum-Drummond combo frustrated Doc's Celtics who are only 5 games ahead of the Pistons for the last playoff spot in the east with 42 games still to go in the regular season.

The Pistons have now won 8 of their last 12 and played well enough in three of the four losses to win those games as two went into OT. Only the loss across the pond reminded us of those Pistons that open the season with the seven straight losses. The Celtics have lost 3 in a row after winning 6 straight. Five games is not a lot to make up as long as you are playing at .650>.750 clip and Drummond and Bynum are getting positive touches.. Question is can the Pistons sustain it out on the road the rest of the month?

I hope we can move forward and see More Bynum/ Dre and less Stuckey/Max as we head into 2013. Dre really seems to enjoy playing with Bynum and apparently Bynum is the only Guard on the team with an iq higher than an apple since he has been the only 1 to figure out that if you throw it near the rim drummond will make you look good, and get you an assist. Drummond needs to be in the high 20s minute wise or the entire basketball world is gonna realize just how slow he is.

Coach changed things in this one. In the 2nd half, rather than march out what did not work at all in first half for a bench, he ditched CV and went with more defense, playing a lot of Monroe - Drummond well into the 4th quarter. Ten whole minutes seeing these two paired up, what a treat for us Piston fans.

Daye barely played in this one. Four minutes. Again, our bench did nothing. Our starters got out to a big lead. Bynum and Drummond connected a couple times as soon as they came in, and Bynum got a score himself there. And CV nailed a couple of threes. But we had no defense out there, and for the most part we were not getting any good shots. The two CV nailed were not good shots - great that he can make them, but really, nothing was working after a couple of minutes with Stuckey and Bynum in the backcourt for our bench. This makes many games in a row since we have had any positive contribution while our starters sit down. Stuckey and Daye in particular have went from bench contributors to doing nothing at all with Bynum out there leading this total nonsense coach has been calling a bench. And CV, his two threes, as little as it is considering all he gives up on defense, is the best we have got from him of late. Our bench, in short, has been really, really bad.

What a balanced scoring effort. Singler, Drummond, Bynum, Tay, Monroe (double double), and Knight all scored between 13 and 16 points. Singler is back in as part of the bench again. Not that it is doing much good since we have a useless backcourt of Bynum and Stuckey paired up. We did go briefly with just Bynum as a point guard. Did not work.

Our starters got off to a great start, and we held Boston to around 35% shooting in the first quarter. (Close as my memory can get at the moment.) Of course, our bench gave everything back up. Just a good thing that coach woke up and changed things around in the 2nd half. Anyway, our starters followed up the good start with a fine 3rd quarter.

Of note, we did totally waste a few minutes doing absolutely nothing since Stuckey came in as the first sub, for Singler. Always the very most wrong substitution that can be made. Stuckey did hit a three in this game, enough to keep coach deluded into thinking there is anything at all right about replacing your only strong outside shooter with Stuckey.

Tay did nail a couple of threes. But note, he has only like two games under his legs in like the past eternity or two. That won't last as the schedule heats back up.

Bynum had quite a few alley oops to Drummond in this one. In addition, Monroe got one to him. Plus a slam back. And - most importantly, 6-8 at the line - by far the best free throw shooting from Drummond so far in his short career. Doc's policy of hack - a - Drum backfired mightily on him. It actually made our horrid bench productive for a stretch, a feat that only could be accomplished by Doc's bad decision in this instance.

Singler got a bunch of offensive bounds. Very much needed. In this one, his lack of speed did not seem to hurt us while having an extra big in there did seem to help. At the end of the game, either Tay or Singler, take your pick, was our power forward.

As someone mentioned, no JMAX in the 4th. Monroe and Drummond stayed paired up 'til half way into the fourth, then we went a bit smaller, never using either or JMAX nor CV in the 4th.

First time, half of Drummond's minutes (exactly) were with Monroe in the game. Without checking to make sure, I believe Drummond was well positive along side Monroe, well negative without him.

To say Knight had a bad game is to ignore that in all, our starters romper stomped theirs. If we had any kind of bench at all, this game would have been a total laugher. Coach needs to fix the bench. Despite the heroics of seeing all those lobs to Drummond from Bynum, we really should try to see what Stuckey can do, with Bynum on the bench - with a unit of Stuckey, Singler, Daye, CV, and Drummond. In other words, lets get our bench back.

Oh, and I will mention the worst call of the century. Drummond steals the ball, gets his jersey grabbed from behind, and does not get a break - a - way call. Hey, the way Drummond was making free throws, that would have probably been points for us.

I checked, Drummond was plus 8 with Monroe, minus 6 without him. And I noticed JMAX did play just under 2 minutes worth in the middle of the 4th.
