In the 4th Q they turned on the sideline mic and you could hear someone yell, Will move...cut to the basket. You could see the other guys calling him out too. Then he made his move and it was lame. Like he didn't want to cut to the basket but made a curved line to the lane and out again. I think with a full offseason with Frank, they'll be able to execute a ton better.
This win was impressive. Max is a much better defensive rebounder, he seems to get a thrill out of boxing his guy out and inhaling the ball as it comes off the rim. Coach after coach has tried to get Max to buy into rebounding on the defensive end and Frank seems to have cracked the code. AWESOME! The physical nature of defense from Max and Ben has been stellar and Frank seems to understand the best pairings, like Lee said, he's limiting the Monroe/JJ and Max/Ben pairings. I also like how he's using JJ in a more limited role, it's actually made him (JJ) more effective off the bench, 20-24 hard, tough, energetic minutes off the bench seems to be his niche. I still don't like BK7, but he's getting better. Winning 6 of 8 with Max starting at PF makes me realize that we don't need to pair Monroe with an All-Star at PF, a solid and strong defender, who can score 8-10ppg and grab 7/8 Rpg is all GM needs next to him, Monroe and Dyess would be perfect complements to one another. Really hoping we go hard after Jeff Greene and/or Wilson Chandler this summer, both are upgrades over Tay.
Part of the agreement struck after the lockout: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7...15-trade-deadline-other-key-dates-sources-say "Between Dec. 25 and Feb. 6, teams will be able to dress and play 13 players instead of the usual 12. After Feb. 6, teams can dress 13 players but only 12 can play." This still wouldn't explained what happened last night? Perhaps that modified the dates? Perhaps Boston broke the rule last night and no one noticed?
Let's not get too depressed about all these wins, guys - they've played a stretch of bad teams and benefited from playing against Boston without Garnett twice. Even if they play .500 the rest of the way, they should still end up with a top-10 pick.
I was thinking if the ref just would have caught the ball instead of letting it bounce off of him, it wouldn't have been an issue.
Disagree...I think the toss was planned to catch the ref by surprise. Didn't toss til the ref raised his arm....tossed at that very moment. Also...............He was close and the toss had no arc....
This game puts us at .333, I feel like that's right where we are, we're better than the really bad teams (about 1/3 of the league) and we can compete with lower seed playoff teams and beat them half the time we play them in Auburn Hills. We're a team not very deep into the lottery but I think we're 1 move away from being a .500 team in contention for a playoff spot next year.
Good points........We can only hope that JD can come up with that 1 move.......wether the lottery draft....or by other means.
Yeah, I agree. And the way Rondo just walked off immediately as if he knew he'd get tossed is telling. If what I've heard is right, that kind of action is an automatic ejection + suspension.
I watched the Celtics/Mavs last night and they said Rondo has done this 3 or 4 times before and this was just the tiping point. So, you were right...Rondo has a problem with this.
Perhaps Sheed taught young Rondo a few things (like how to mail it in when you don't feel it on a given night) before he departed....
