Boston couldn't guard Harris nor could they guard Andre. Lee is right that a steady pounding inside with an offense that is designed to work to its players strengths would have won this game. If half of those 3's were shot as twos, the Pistons would have made some of them and probably won this game. And if the team forced the weak Boston defense's hand inside, the three ball would open up naturally anyway.

Even the existing offense (not designed to fit this teams strengths) started to produce with Ish running the show. Right now, hard to have a lot of confidence in Reggie. He drives now and again for a hoop, but I wouldn't say he was a great penetrator. The team, and Andre, need a steady point guard who can run the offense, commanding the attention of the defense and having the ability to dish or pull up for the short jumper.

We need a Leon the Barber in the Palace to call out Pistons who don't play well.

I honestly believe that every player on the Pistons would do better playing in the Celtics system and every Boston player would do worse here.

They'd be debating if Thomas belonged in the L instead of where he fell in the MVP race.

Thomas does that on a daily basis...to pretty much every team in the league.

It all begins and ends with Reggie's insecurity. The team was firing on all cylinders when he was out. He came back and we started tanking. He's trying to prove to everybody, probably mostly to himself, that he is the stud that can take this team to the next level. He isn't. He has the potential to be the guy that leads the team to the next level, but that path lies through running the team and making your teammates better. When he tries to Lebron the whole thing, the end result inevitably becomes a sad, and bad, impersonation of presumed greatness.

I have no confidence that he will ever "get it." A lower bracket playoff berth with a competitive first round exit is the ceiling for this team with Reggie at the helm.

Sounds like the coaching system.....are we talking SVG or his assistants and their input? One of those assistants has to be able to implement a change or disagree with Mr. Trump er I mean Mr. Van Gundy without being fired..........I see him talking about the players to whomever sits next to him that game, but what are contributing when players continue to make the same mistakes in every quarter or every game with no adjustment? One or two of them could have convinced SVG to leave RJ on the bench when the Pistons were clearly moving the ball on offense despite the defensive collapse. At least we could have matched them point for point to the end instead of seeing them seemingly run away it....even though it was only a 4 point loss...

Great article on Detroit Bad Boys today about how it is not the system. The system is working as intended.

We don't do all of the little things. We're not tough, we don't get to the line. We don't dive for loose balls.

Well, IT put up another 44 with 19 coming in the 4th quarter to beat a good team and pull into solo 2nd in the East. 15-16 from the line.

Glad to know that it was nothing personal against us.

I'm leaning toward him for MVP. Lebron and Curry have much better teammates than Isaiah does.

Bradley, Horford, Crowder, Smart, Olynk, Amir, Rozier, J Brown, G Green, Jerebko, Zeller? That kind of sucks. A decent percentage of them are our bench castoffs.

Take todays team... but Isiah's mental makeup into our PG, and Laimbeer's into our Center.... we are over night the 2nd best team in the East knocking at Clevelands heels... same system, same players.... just some alpha dogs in the locker room and on court to lead us.

Alphas have gotten a bad rap as betas and gammas have risen to positions of influence.
