HILLS -- Pistons guard Chauncey Billups is done sitting.
Billups, who has missed nearly three playoff games with a strained right hamstring, said Thursday he's ready to play again.
Billups practiced almost up to capacity with the team.

"It's just good to be out there," Billups said. "My full-out sprint is not where I want it to be, but it's not like I'm that fast anyways."

Pistons' Billups not at 100 percent

Hopefully Chauncy can be ...ummm, ...uhhhhhh, ..."productive". :crutch::fingerscr:

Just checking in to give an update. His hamstring is fully recovered.

Also, I saw this feel good article just posted:
Chauncey Billups, now with Clippers, says he's a 'lifetime Piston' | Detroit Pistons | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

Is he the cheap veteran leader and mentor that the team needs to transition through the rebuild?

If he's willing to come off the bench to be the backup PG, might be worth considering.

Also, sort of a feel bad article:
Billups on Pistons Trade: ‘Still don’t get it’ | HOOPSWORLD | Basketball News & NBA Rumors

Translation: "Joe, you are an idiot. I was kicking butt and wanted to be there. What tremendous foolishness you displayed. The 5 years of missed playoffs with a botched retooling was the result of your error in judgment."

Of course, he was more measured than that.

I would take Billups back in a heartbeat. He is a true court leader and would be a great influence on the young guys.

Talk about a great mentor for Knight

Could be perfect. I feel like the Clips need to make a move like that. They have CP3 already (i.e. don't need Chauncey) and could use our best PER differential player toward a playoff run. They also should like the long term contract. Tay would be going home.

It makes sense in theory that they could be a trading partner in the Tay sweepstakes.

Eric Bledsoe is a per minute STUD backing up CP3.
They got Crawford, Butler and like 10 other guards that can start or back-up @ SG.
    They need Tay.
We need Chauncey to play the role of Yoda and teach BK everything that Larry Brown taught him about being a PG.

Hell, better yet, Trade Tay for a package containing Bledsoe!

If CB ever comes back to Detroit, Rodney will need therapy.
