If we land a lottery pick and both guys are available who would you rather have on the team? Please explain why, I don't watch college basketball that much so I can't make a fair assessment.

They are both half decent. Between the two, I would take Shabazz.

But in all honesty, I don't want another rookie.

You suggesting combining the #1 pick with Villanueva to make him transactable?

There are better ways to acquire a 2nd round pick.

That big kid from Kentucky might be a force by the end of the year. Can you imagine the 3-headed monster of him, Monroe, and Drummond? Of course, we would have to still carve out some minutes for Jerebko at power forward.

Joe just needs to re-sign Jason Maxiell.
    6 years - $60 mil.

I like the idea of locking him up long term (ala Gordon/Villenueva). I'm wondering if we could get him for $54 million. I would have to low ball him and see him walk.

Would be funny to see if his agent could keep a straight face during the negotiation.

"Joe, Jason's been there for you all these years man. You've always been able to count on him for 6 pts and about 5 reounds per game. So far this season, he taken his game to a whole new level! He's improved his scoring this year by a whopping 50% and his rebounding numbers are up 25%. So far, the extra made basket and rebound that you're getting each game hasn't contributed to the win column but rest assured, in a few years, it will!"

You do that and the Bulls might snatch him.

LOL. I meant to put "hate to low ball him" and accidentally typed "have to low ball him".....unless it was a Rascoe filter that changed it.

I could kick myself for not naming my son Shabazz.

I love that name, too. I'm almost tempted to change my youngest son's name from Alikazam to Shabazz.

I have yet to watch Duke and North Carolina games this year to make a decision. So far, I think Shabazz is a better fit.. We can trade Stuckey + Prince and some how attempt to get Rudy Gay or Josh Smith from the free agency pool.

    I know it's hard, but it's a nice idea.

    Muhammad
    Smith or Rudy Gay
    Monroe
    Drummond

He is slowwwww. I don't know what his sizes are, but who do we put at the 3?

As for Shabazz, he looks like he is good, has a decent head on his shoulders, but I would be worried about him being a selfish player.

When is the last time a player named Shabazz did anything special in the NBA? Just trying to be realistic here.

According to Nation of Islam doctrine, Shabazz was an ancient scientist from Mecca who led the "original people" of the Tribe of Shabazz into Africa. That was pre- shot clock era, though.
