I actually agree with placing Davis ahead of Ford on that list. But having said that, it's like having to choose between death by sharks or death by alligators. No love for the Pistons? I'm assuming that's because of the recent death of Mr. D?
I know. But I figured since Roscoe hobnobs with the rich and famous, there may be a good chance Willy reads our forum. And if that were true, I wanted him to know exactly what I thought of him for putting me through what he has for the last 43 years. Seriously, I think Oakland won at least one Super Bowl, so that is really why I had Ford worse than Davis. Bill or Tashawn. If you are reading this, 43 may be the magical number because it is prime! Bless you boys. This is the year!
Funny Al Davis at the top of the NFL worst list ands he is the only one in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Boy has his stock and grace fallen...
Based on the last 7 years, I would think you would have to put Detroit above Houston, Dallas, and Cleveland. Of course, it is probably as you said, concerning Mr. D. Cleveland owner and Houston owner have done squat. How hard is it to select LeBron or Yao? The Cleveland owner is just riding someone elses coat tails. LeBron could make WCF look good. Ok, maybe not. Ford is flatout cursed. Of course, although I do not like him, I guess I have to give kudos to Mark Cuban, for all the things he has done for the Mav's.
There was a time when the Oakland Raiders were the "Standard of Excellence" They had the best W-L record from 1960 to 1980. Davis just got old and senile. They've won 2 superbowls during their history. The Lions have no notable history since 1960....We're the worst....
All Cleveland has done is copied the Pistons business model. Seriously. They stole our former Pistons announcer, Fred McLeod for their play-by-play. They stole Ben Wallace. They re-named their building the Quicken Loans arena after their subsidiary, Rock Financial was already the main sponsor of the Pistons. They stole our pre-game intros. Right down to the shooting flames (really?) and announcers attempt at a raspy Masonesque voice. Their Assistant GM, Lance Banks, was drafted 26th overall in 1990 by the Pistons and played 2 seasons for us. The Cavs owner lives in Michigan and attended both Michigan State and Wayne State. The Cavs Managing Partner has a company in Michigan and attended MSU and Detroit College of Law. The Cavs have had a man-crush on us for years. It's sad really.
keed? As for Dan Gilbert, he got rich arranging bad mortgages for people, he's the sub prime king. He's another guy I would like to never meet. More trash like WCF.
Ford is way worse then Davis. Davis in his "good years" was an awesome owner who did a lot for the NFL. Ford & the Lions on the other hand hasn't done jack. Al Davis is just old and thinks that speed is the way. I wonder how long Stuart Sternberg, Tampa Bay Rays is going to be on top 5 there. It's not going to be cheap to resign their star players. The Steinbrenner Family should be higher as well. LOL @ Sterling's record with the team (Clippers). (773-1,491)
I disagree. A lot of their success is because they can afford to spend 2-3 times more than most other teams.
What about the Tigers?? Worst to first in 2 years? Not that bad, maybe not that good either. Pistons are the model of success, along with the Spurs. And W T F has only ONE playoff win in 45+ years. Davis has 2 Super Bowls, another show in the last 10 years, and has ALWAYS had a football philosophy that is based on FOOTBALL, not ticket selling. He also is a HOF, has 10 or more players/coach in the HOF( and should have more with Ray Guy leading the way), where WTF has 3. One he had to PUSH through since no one at home ever saw his games (Charlie Sanders) due to blackouts, and the most recent he was LUCKY to get him due to GB taking Mandarich. Add to that Sanders quitting due to the owners way of doing business with his OLine and this is what you get.
You're right...of course. It's as if these people didn't also notice that we just had an 0-16 season. What's up with that.
