Why Austin Daye can't get no PT???
I believe it has something to do with his lack of shooting, dribbling, defense, rebounding and interest in the game itself.
we always waste young talent, look at afflalo..... Daye gone comeback to hurt us, he got the height, and the shot, when he goes somewhere else, he gone ball......he definetly needs help on defense, but he could be productive off the bench.....Daye is certainly on franks S-list......
His propensity to go into the fetal position at the thought of posting up an opposing PG might have something to do with it.
I was initially a big fan of Daye, but he seemed to crumble under pressure last year instead of rising to the occasion when his number was called. He never took advantage of his opportunities. Perhaps he needs to keep doing more push ups.
While Austin has made some strides as far as pushups and such, he still struggles with shooting. Coach Frank seems more concerned with the shooting and disregards AD's progress in the other areas. Is this fair?....maybe not...but that's the way Coach Frank runs this team.
Daye is pretty one-dimensional (spot-up shooter). If you are one-dimensional and your one dimension is not working, you will probably end up in the dog house.
That's not fair.
What did you see from Daye on the court last season that would warrant him receiving any playing time right now?
He had that one good game.
That's a valid point. Perhaps Frank should try to work him into the rotation. If he can get Charlie 4.4 seconds, surely he can find twice that for Austin.
Frank gotta figure out which Players to match up with these different teams, this is a team of pros! Everybody has bad days, everybody on the team can ball, it's how you use them. If we stay with way we are playing, we are screwed...if stuckey is off, put somebody else in, let AD play the " 2 ".. What's the worst that can happen, we lose? He would slow his man, with his height at least, or use his five fouls.. Remember we used TP like that with Kobe and it worked......
Welcome to the forum Kick It To The Big Man. Frank can only do so much when he needs scoring and defense, and Austin Daye really doesn't provide either.
By that rationale, the guy they are playing instead of Daye also has six fouls to give. Just sayin'
Glad to be on here, thanks... I just think he playin him in the wrong spot, he could give him a play where he can catch a OOPS.. To be that tall, he can move, we need a secret weapon... It would work....
At the moment, you can probably substitute Daye for any player in the rotation and it won't make a difference.
Holy showcasing! Patient Austin Daye passes first test to get another shot at securing a spot in Detroit Pistons rotation | MLive.com Kim Jong Il couldn't get that kind of press coverage and he had the power to execute.
This quote threw me because it's not real, the satire is really subtle, and I'm not catching the reference.
I was just seeing if anyone would make it that far.
