This is my least favorite part about the Pistons over the last decade. When we were so good that the starters were bored, we didn't develop the young players because they didn't earn their minutes. Now, we are a lottery team and we don't develop the youngsters because we are desperate for wins and the coach clings to vets.

A higher power needs to ensure that the coaches optimize the team for the long-term and not just for the very next win. And I don't mean God... I mean the guy who spends all the games texting on his blackberry.

    lol, 100 % agreed dude.

It should be prioritized, and given that Karen Davidson doesn't really care about the team itself, his job wouldn't be in any jeopardy. Expectations for this team were already extremely low coming in.

So on track to finish about 27-55, no matter how many rotations the Quester dreams up.:yellowprison:

it is like um...small economical reforms in big system in USSR by Khrushchev - no matter what Khrushchev tried to do during "melting period" - all ended up in nowhere.

The only difference is that Khruschev didn't have a "Reforms" thread where he posted every possible combination of reforms...

The problem is he must be dreaming them up - cause he ain't using any common sense in how he chooses his rotations.

Combine that with zero ability - strike that - zero motivation - to make in game adjustments to his rotation - and you got disaster.

Wilcox and CV. I am sure someone pointed out how bad that is. Sure Wilcox showed something - but that something was not ability to rotate on defense. Combine that with CV's complete lack of rotating ability - and well, those two should never be on the floor together - ever.

What did we get this last game - Monroe got taken out of the rotation in the first half - just so we could play the Wilcox / CV pairing which was disastrous.

So, lets say you are TMAC, and you are being double teamed. Of course, nobody to pass to - except Ben Wallace who is quite mysteriously wide open - with nobody hardly in the same gym with him. TMAC just might appreciate a coach who saw what was going on - and changed something to address it.

This last team had no inside game to fear at all. CV just might have been the perfect center to use to open the game - with Summers in at power forward. Daye at small forward to add some rebounding.

Now you got TMAC out there, with Gordon, Summers, Daye, and CV surrounding him. Nobody who can be played off of to double team TMAC.

Rip comes in as the first sub, for TMAC - making Gordon the point guard for a spell. By shortening up TMAC's stint - he does not need that long a rest. Not far into the beginning of the 2nd quarter, Gordon sits and TMAC is back in at point.

Tay, a dynamite player if his minutes are kept short, is explosive off the bench when he comes in to rest Daye as needed.

Yes, people like to make fun of the rotations thing, thinking that hey, the Pistons are just a horrible team with no hope. I disagree strongly. I say we are a fine team with no coach - and no GM who cares a lick about it.

Here is a little snippett from Ben Gordon in the preview section of tonight's game on the Piston's website. Is this a little jab at the coach??

"We were not moving the ball a lot," guard Ben Gordon said. "The sets we were running weren't helping us. We never really made adjustments."
