I think there is a lot of premature hang wringing over draft position. Y'all gunna change your stories mighty fast if we end up with the #1 pick.

Let's wait and see what the envelopes reveal.

That wait my friend to the beginning of June may be longer to endure than this frustrating season. :sssh:

By the way, I am not necessarily in agreement that the Pistons have no "go to" players on their roster. I think Ben Gordon, Daye and Stuckey can eventually all be that type of player. I also think Summers has that type of potential- if he ever learns to be a beast down low, like he should since he's so damn strong. We don't have a LeBron or Wade or Kobe or Dirk or Melo - but we might have 3 guys who, within the next 2 years, are all in the second rung of players, and that's been good enough for teams like the Celtics of 2 years ago (Pierce, Ray Allen), and the 2004 Pistons.

I think it's much more important that Daye and Stuckey and JJ etc. get paired up with monsters in the paint - that's where we don't have on our roster anyone who could remotely be that type of dominant defender or interior scorer. Until we find those players, we aren't much of a threat.

Don't worry about the draft. It will be all sign and trades.

You think the Pistons are going to trade away a Top 7 player?

There have been conspiracy theories about the lottery in the past (see Patrick Ewing to the Knicks in 1985), but now there are representatives from each lottery team in the room when they draw the ping pong balls.

We should send some muscle in there to assure that everything is on the up and up or to influence the process.....how about Mason, Mahorn, Kwame and Big Ben with his fear the fro extended out.

Perhaps Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye should show up and throw their weight around.

The Nets not only have JZ, but they are now owned by the Russian mafia.

On a side note, I now hate CV. In the few games I saw this year, he's lounging around on D, jacking up bad shots on O, basically the laziest player I've seen in a long long time. End of the season, when we need to tank, he decides to make a point and actually bust his butt.

IMHO, he tried to sabotage the tanking so he wouldn't have to compete with a top draft pick next year.

LOL, I thought a few guys were playing hard for that very reason.

Maybe we are just shameless cynics.

Or maybe we understand human nature.
