Pistons go on a 2-point run to cut the lead to 22 points (79-57). Memphis calls timeout to stop the momentum. NBA - Detroit Pistons/Memphis Grizzlies Box Score Saturday October 17, 2009 - Yahoo! Sports I thought Memphis would struggle more with the loss of Darko...
Well you know I am 2500 miles from the WWJ broadcast tower in Detroit and when I try to get via the internet all I got was news....
CV, Jerebko, and Bynum with good games. Stuckey and Gordon with adequate games. Nobody else. Getting worried that this is about a 35-47 team or worse.
One thing that sticks out from the box is the 14 assists to 18 TO's. Not passing the ball very well. Part of that of course is Prince being out - why would Jerebko start in his place? I thought he was trying out for the center spot. 2 more preseason games to go and the last one ( friday ) will actually be televised.
I kinda figured when they lost that game by 3 pts last week, that real team would be exposed ..since then they have been blown out in two straight games giving up an average of 114 pts per game.... Who will Joe trade in the next two weeks, Prince or Rip to bring in some defensive stopper.(s)
Nobody traded...Except Joe, who will be on his way out after the team is moved to Des Moines. Mrs. Davidson needs to clear the air about her intentions. She may be looking to sell. The time is right, as the franchise value is high.
Horrible starting lineup with JJ at the 3, the idea was to put some great defenders on the court, but it's clear that JJ can not guard the good SF's in this league like Rudy Gay. I see Q's logic, I'm thinking he used this game to see what combo's could actually work together-none of those goofy ones worked at all. I really think this pre-season is showing us that Austin Daye may work his way onto the court sooner rather than later as a legit backup SF. I really think that Rip's stay as a Piston is directly tied to the development of Austin Daye, once AD is ready to roll, he'll force himself onto the court as the backup SF, meaning BYE BYE 3 guard lineup, meaning Bye Bye Rip. It's becoming obvious that we really need a PG and a C, just like 25 other teams in the league.
This is why in preseason games , I play the quarter by quarter game. The pistons got blown out in the 1st qtr, but the other three qtrs were Ok.... its all about expirementing...soemthing a LOT of yall know something about!
