At LA Lakers Nov. 14th, 10:30 PM TV - ESPN, FS Detroit HD Radio - WDFN 1130 The back end of the back to back is against the WC Champion Lakers. At the time of this post the Lakers are undefeated. The nation will get to see the Pistons depth in this back to back set as both games are on national TV, tonight on ESPN.
I hate to be a pessimist here, but based on what I saw in the Palace today and the Staples Center tonight, this one won't be pretty if we are still experimenting by starting the second quarter with Kwame, Max and Fabio....I am just being real folks...
AI & Rip combine for 61 and Amir has six blocks. The last time it will be close will be the 8:00 minute mark in the second. At least that's what Sprocket the cat says.
Heading out to LA tomorrow. REALLY hoping that we are the first team to beat the Lakers this year and I can talk some trash to those spoiled Laker fans. However, the Lakers are kicking everyone's butts so far. They looked like champs tonight against Nawlins.
I have several friends to whom I would love to rub it in if the Pistons could become a finely tuned machine by then...
Sorry I won't be in town to host the victory party, but you have great time TaS and cheer for the team in blue!! The Lake show is starting to get arrogant, (well their announcers and fans are) We need to bring them back down to earth, but the Pistons will have to play a perfect game and either Gasol or Bynum will have to be in major foul trouble
I was watching Gasol's brother last night in the first half against the Knicks. He's kind of a stiff. He makes Paul look a lot quicker.
This game is a test for us. We don't need to win it, but we do need it as a barometer. Games against Sac and GSW were mere scrimmages that put 2W's in the win column. This game, much like Boston, is an exam to see where we are. We failed the Bos exam miserably, but we just might eek out a passing grade tonight. All I'm looking for is a better chemistry between AI and the rest of the team, Rip in particular. It's coming together, tonight will show us how far we've come in a week and how far we have to go. Hope Tay, AA, and Bynum can keep the good times rolling. Praying for Amir and Max to get their heads out of their _____ 's :fingerscr and that Kwame gets a frikking clue, that kids hoop IQ is off the charts.....but in the wrong direction.
I believe Sheed can make life difficult for Gasol, question is Bynum Vs Amir/Kwame. This is a game where Amir could really shine if he had anything close to a clue. That Laker D this year is something fierce.
this could get rough...kwame better be ready mentally because the lakers fans are going to ride him ALL game
Good point, Hog, I hadn't thought of that. Er, uh...let's just say I don't have much faith in that turning out well for us tonight.
true dat...He may as well stay in the locker room. If he scores 6 pts, makes 2 ft's and grabs 5 boards, and possibly blocks a Bynum shot then then his night would be a success!!
I agree completely with your barometer comments although I wouldn't call a game on a WC opponent's home floor a scrimmage even if it's against SAC or GS. It's a tough game every night in the NBA, unless you're playing an LB-coached Knicks or Bobcats team.
Sorry, I didn't mean to discount the teams we play as if they are just scrubs. But seeing as how a huge roster change was made so suddenly, and at this point in the season there are not many practices, these games IMO are like practices, but seeing as how you can't constantly stop play, they're like those scrimmages you have against other squads. Again I'm happy we just added a few W's.
