    well...

I'm getting tired of those almost cinderella stories. A win is a win and a loss is a loss no matter how langlois'ly you try to paint the picture.

Horrible effort tonight. Kuester's body language on the bench early in the game made it look like they had thrown in the towel before tipoff.

Garbage loss due to garbage effort. Very disappointing.

I only watched the last 20 minutes of this game, because I had to work late. Random thoughts:

The rookie coach might want to add an extra practice for this young team. 3 hours of layup lines against defenders might pay off, since driving the paint seems to be the game plan.

Ben Gordon has a magical, Kobe-like ability to make shots. This completes my Kobe comparisons.

Weezy contributes nothing. I'm not sure why, because I know he can play. I've seen it with my own eyes. Up close and in person, even.

    Derick Rose is awesome.

    Ben Wallace plays with heart.

JJ is an excellent, cheap, late draft pick rookie. He hustles, and should have a job in the NBA for many years. He's not a franchise player, but he definitely contributes.

Hamilton and Prince may be enough to make this team competitive. Or not.

Another lackluster effort by the Pistons and you can't blame the loss on Michael Curry (heh). I'm not sure if I had a magic wand what I could do to turn this team into playoff contenders. All I do know is if you are starting Chucky Atkins as your point guard you are in deep doo doo. I'm a big believer in playing your 5 best players and letting your bench develop from the other players you have. In my world the 5 best players on the Pistons (that are healthy) are Stuckey, Gordon, Daye, Maxiell and Kwame Brown. That's a good combo of offense and defense and that would be my starting line-up.

The Bulls just outplayed the Pistons tonight and I do love Derrick Rose and Noah, that's a really good cornerstone for your future. Brad Miller is also a treasure, a big that passes and defends and can shoot. The Bulls are not going anywhere though their coach is weak and seems to nag at the players too much.

The Pistons need to get Rip and Tay back before this season really turns ugly.

    Bulls 92-Pistons 85

For those interested, this game was lost in the opening minutes as the Pistons could not find the hoop and fell behind 23-6 and finished the first qtr down 24-10. It was a lackluster effort to say the least

I think they were 3-13 shooting that first qtr. The Pistons came back in the second to make a game of it but were still down by 10 at the half.

The Pistons opened the 3rd qtr on a nice run to slice 48-38 down to 52-49, but the Bulls went on their own 16-4 run to go up by 14 and the Pistons could never get any closer than 10 until they trimmed it to 5 with only 16 seconds left.

The pistons seem to have no answer for Brad Miller or Jokem Noah. Miller scored 16 off the bench and Noah had 14 boards. They also had 6 and 5 assists while our high assist man came off the bench with Bynum's 7. Stuckey had 4 and bengie had none.

The experimental starting lineup of Max and Atkins did not do what it did Sunday.

Our bench outscored the starters 52-33....and our starting guards of Chuckey and Stuckey was Suckey....or a dismal 5-22 shooting with 20 pts and 5 dimes. 9 of Stuckey's points came from the charity stripe.

If our starting guards weren't good, then our starting front court was no better, but at least our backups had a better than average game to keep us in the game. Wilcox had one of his best games with 9 pts and 4 brds and Kwame was also decent with 10 pts and 5 brds.......but their defense was no better than the starters....

Never in this one as that starting lineup won't work. Atlanta didn't compete Sunday--it wasn't the lineup. That starting lineup can't score.

The Pistons guards do not go well together. The mix is not right. And Atkins should not get prime minutes even if the point guard situation is not right. Joe will have to alter the mix by next year.

The Piston bigs are very poor. Kwame and Maxiel get the ball in places most NBA players can score but they don't. And Maxiel is better offensively than before. But watch other bigs on other teams and tell me our bigs match up in terms of what they bring.

The Pistons need their injured guys back. This is not a high level Chicago team.

They didn't let you pay in installments?? I have paid the first two installments, but if they don't win 10 games by x-mas, Direct Tv may not get the last two.....

That starting line-up is brutal. If you can't score a bucket I don't care how good your defense is. Yet wait, Atkins can't play defense. I get it, you want Bynum / BG coming off the bench, but your telling me there isn't some minimum contract that could play better thn Atkins. Those three's he misses our REC LEAGUE! Smush Parker is better that him right now.

Yep the Hawks must have felt sorry for us on Sunday or hung out at the casino Saturday night, because tonight they put a hurting on the Raptors scoring 146 points....

Atkins got rewarded for his horrid effort in the previous game with another start. He simply can't play anymore. His shots were so far off the announcers were too embarrassed to mention it. A shot short and well to the right is called just short. Atkins, when called upon to defend anyone in a scramble, can't. Too short. Just minus 6 in this game, but his negative effect lasted long after he left the game. His complete lack of point guard skills had the team so confused after the first 6 minutes they played, it took most of the rest of the half to get us back on track. But then he started the 2nd half too, and of course the team was soon out of whack once more. I will blame this loss squarely on Dumars just for hiring his buddy.

Some good stuff. Daye did well. JJ got more minutes to develop. Wilcox did well, 4-5, and was heavily plus in this game.

Stuckey and Gordon shot a lot, made few shots - but they got to the line a ton too.

Kwame looked a bit better. However, the coach did not manage to get the combo of JMAX and Wilcox in the game. A combo that has looked good. (Expescially in respect to getting Wilcox the ball in the post.)

As much as I dislike Atkins, I also hate to see guys play injured. Gordon and Bynum are both still playing on bad ankles. If you have to play another point guard though - anyone else capable of playing point would be a better option vs. Atkins.

Thats about it. A horrid start, falling 17 down - then clawing back to within 3 before falling short. Chicago just ended a 5 game losing streak against us.

Coach is still experimenting. Prediction: Now that Wilcox showed something, watch it be 4 more games before he can play in a game.

And one more thing. Small ball killed us in this one as much as anything. A lot of that falling behind was with Bynum, Stuckey, and Gordon in the game at the same time. And of course, this shows for sure we never needed Atkins in the game. No way you can say you are short a point guard then turn around and play 2 of them together.

I like the idea of Charlie coming off the bench. He still needs to play about 30-32mpg even off the bench, so I thought a solid vet starting for us at the PF position is what the doctor needs to be ordering, then it hit me, WILCOX! Good WIlcox......because Bad Wilcox shouldn't even be in the League. Tonight we saw Solid Wilcox, C'mon Weezy, can Good Wilcox come out and play?

Tru Dat. That's why I really think Bynum should be the Starting PG. Take Stuckey completely off the point, HE-CAN'T-GET-IT-DONE!!! Move him to the off guard and bring Gordon off the bench. When Rip gets back him and Bynum together, with Stuckey and Gordon off the bench is a very nice mix of players.

THAT IS FUNNY!!! Another reason why Will should have started tonight.

FAIR WEATHERS!!!! Be a REAL FAN!!!! The Mountain Top only has value for those who have endured the valley.

To do this... Coach Q needs an extra pair of balls to tell Joe D that he was wrong... We should all donate one...

Easy for you to say... you watch it on local tv :D ... I've been paying for LP for the past 4+yrs. I don't mind going through the dark valleys, just as long as they don't bungie jump right into the bottom of the valey..

And the losses continue to mount. I thought we would set an NBA record for the fewest points scored in a quarter during the 1st Q.

To me, this was maybe the first game they didn't play above their heads for a whole game. It's only been extraordinary effort that made them as competitive as they have been, and sooner or later you that fails you and you need some basic talent. There's just not enough talent on the floor right now to win games.

You always talk about installments. Cablevision never lets you pay that way. It is $169.00. We love basketball too much in our family not to have League Pass.

Only caught the first, third, and fourth quarters, but a few things stood out:

    - I know the new starting line-up "worked" against Atlanta, but they were brutal last night. They looked out-of-sync and flat, which spells disaster in a road game.
    - Atkins is used up, most of his shots are lucky to kiss the front of the rim. I understand the reasoning behind his playing when Gordon was out, but hopefully we don't see too much of him the remainder of the season.
    - Maxiell has zero touch around the basket, it felt like he missed about 20 bunnies in the first quarter.
    - Do we have the worst free-throw shooting front court in the NBA?
    - Good energy from Jerebko and Wilcox, hopefully he can build off of this if CV misses another game. Big Ben looked tired in this game, which is scary considering the Pistons had two days off.
    - I felt all our guards were really pressing on offense, which lead to some poor decisions. We had a lot of bad shots and turnovers during our ill-fated comeback
    - The Bulls used their athletic bigs to show aggressively on screens and we don't have any (healthy) big men that can make them pay for it.

Disappointing game overall, hopefully CV is back and we can bring a little more offense back in the lineup.
