A dreaded Sunday game against a young, talented, dangerous team on their home floor. Not a good scenario for the Pistons first Sunday win.

Maybe if we roll in there with a 5 game win streak, that momentum will trump the 5 game Sunday losing streak.

Also don't they believe in having Sunday night games back east? maybe the losses are occurring because the games are before 3 PM and the Piston bodies just aren't ready to play that early?

Well it's on a Sunday and i have a chance to watch it (at 20:00 where i live), so we probably loose, lol

Would be nice to finally end that Sunday drama though. I am hoping that sticking with the current starting 5 will give us enough consistency to finally win on Sunday.

Also means that I have to wake up at 3am Monday to watch this game (if I'm able to, Scoe will know what i mean here). And I hate to start the week with a Piston loss (4 times so far).

Will Tay be guarding Josh Smith in this game? Long arms against high leaper.

I have a feeling that our guys are going to get KILLED this game. :messer:

    Questions:
    1. Will MC continue to play with his Johnson on the bench?
    2. Will ATL's Johnson be too much for our guards?
    3. Will MC insert his Johnson into the lineup to stop Josh Smith?

BTW: Joe Johnson's nickname - "Joe the Basketball Player" kinda cracks me up.

To me, It's like the 2004 Pistons playing the 2008 Pistons.:)
Atlanta has the youthful exuberence, and we have Sheed and AI.

This is a game where Amir's athleticism and six fouls may be needed to slow Josh Smith.

Joe the Basketball player will get his points

    Amir plays or we lose:movingon:

On second thought we might still lose. Our small ball is going to get massacred by the Hawks. I just want to see a competitive game, and a good defensive effort.

I'm just going to pretend Tayshaun is not going to guard Josh Smith.

I pulled his stats. Apparently Smith is a self-check. All of his #s are down from last year.

I'm not particularly terrified of a guy who averages 13/8. I mean, Tay averages 14/7.

Yep but playing against a small ball team where the bigs don't show up on Sundays gives Smith an opportunity to have his break out game of the season....remember lesser known scrubs have flourished against our Sunday crew.

Hey did we vote to have The Low change the starting [strike]lineup[/strike] time of the Podcast to shake things up??

Man you guys act like the Hawks are the second coming or something. I want to see them get out of the 1st round before I start annointing them, lmao.

Every year most teams are different.

Are we the same team as last year? When was the last time AI got out of the first round?

You're getting a lot of information on the current state of these teams with all of the games played in the NBA, so why not use it to make an evaluation?

I understand what you're saying but I can only say they are better until they get out of the 1st round and when they do I will officially say they are better. Are we a better team right now than last year, no but I would trust the Detroit Pistons to go further than the Atlanta Hawks. I mean that is the trend and statistically speaking no one could say otherwise. I dont rank teams from week to week, lmao, I rank them from playoff year to playoff year. That is the only true assessment I can make from year to year. Just my opinion.

So, what was your opinion of Boston last year? Were they still expected to miss out on the playoffs until they mathematically made it in?

You make a good point, however most teams dont make trades/and or pickups of 3 all-stars/future hall of famers in the offseason. This may be the exception to the rule. Other than that I dont think any other franchise in sports history have gone from being the worst team in their respective conf. to being the eventual champions of the whole league. Even if there is another case like the above found it is extremely rare.

What they did last year is not the trend. but an anomole. In all other cases I would go with the trend. You could say that this is more of a theory than a law. Theories case in point usually predict by evidence what is going to happen laws dictate what is going to happen. Like the theory of relativity vs the law of gravity. Just my humble opinion.

Let us say they are as good as they were last year. They went to game seven with the champs. As for this year, they had a chance to win against the champs again. I am not saying we are going to lose, but we need to play our A game in order to pull this one.

Sometimes teams just match up well against eachother, that might be the case with Hawks vs Celtics. But there is no use in getting into that, we will just have to wait and see during playoff time what is gonna happen.
