We're focused on defensive flopping, but offensive players do it just as much. How about the stiff arm shooting motion where the offensive player raises their arms right into the defender's arms. Or the fast break where the offensive player jumps into the defender running beside him. The fake push in the back on rebounds where you dive forward and scream once you know the rebound is going to get nabbed by the guy behind you. There is no fixing this stuff, it's just the part of the game that we have to live with because the other parts are so good. Having referees call only what they see would be my vote. i.e. no calling a foul based on circumstantial evidence.

It's basically a judgement call by the officials. It's similar to "diving" in hockey.

Supposedly, Jordan has a book coming out this summer where he finally admits keeping Zeke off the team. He basically told USA Basketball that it was either Isiah or him.

Actually if the refs don't call the flop, isn't that punishment enough? After a flop, if you don't get the call, your team's playing 4-on-5 bball.

I watched the doc last night on my DVR.
No need to buy Jordan's book, they basically came out and said this in this documentary. There was a moment when Jordan sat down with Bob Kostas and prior to the interview he basically told him, "no questions about Thomas or I'm outta here". He made it well known that it was either Zeke or him.

I came away from this documentary with the following:
    1. Chuck Daily is a freaking BOSS! (I already felt this way but this doc confirmed it).
    2. Mike Jordan is a sore loser, sore winner and all around hard guy to get along with. He's all about himself and any evidence of team play that he ever exhibited was self serving. He didn't sleep, played golf and gambled the entire time in Europe. While Mike Jordan might be the best player of all time, hes most definitely NOT the best dude of all time. Michael Jordan is a jackass. (I already felt this way but this doc confirmed it).
    3. Charles Barkley rules.

I was angry all day yesterday about Isiah being left off the dream team(can't have Caps without Zeke).

I felt like punching hitting someone with a folding chair in the back of the head or kicking someone in the knee in his honor.

Few things make me as angry as this subject. For David Stern to come out and say he wanted him on the team is bogus. As with all things, the commish chose the $$.

Vescey does bring up a valid point about Daly coaching this team sans #11.

Looks like Stuckey is taking a trip to Sweden with Jerebko in a couple days. Guess that explains why he's not in Orlando.

That's cool. Very interesting duo. If those two can have huge years and the youngsters can continue to grow, it could be a fun season.

No disrespect to Monroe, but he ain't there yet. He's making progress, but he's far from Dream Team status.

I think he's mad about not being on the practice team that goes against the real one. He has a valid point if Taj Gibson was there.

He's far from the "Dream Team", but he has valid points as far as the practice squad goes
Actually he ain't sounded mad, just kind of is it for real call.

Taj would have been there because he is one of the best defenders in the NBA at his position. Perfect to challenge some of the superstars in practice.

I do think that Monroe would be a good offensive rebounding garbage man on the Olympic team though.

Much better for us that he gets disrespected and takes it out on the league every game in a Pistons uniform.

He was annoyed about not getting on the Select team. Guys who 'beat him out' include Greg Steimsma and Lance Thomas.

They needed tall, uncoordinated white guys to mimic the European equivalents they will be facing.

If you flop and they call it, it's a turnover. If they don't call it, you're 4 on 5, which slightly increases the advantage the other team has. There's a huge difference. Add in the fact that flops usually get called, and once they do get called they can't get overruled, and you have a problem.

Obvious flops should be technical foul and a fine, IMHO. They're an embarrassment to the sport. (Unless it's a guy on my team that does it).
