This is huge. Our own BillLaimbeer is going on record saying Rasheed is too tough a cover for Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton!

Great point. If only Dre could be talked into holding the ball for 3 seconds instead of 2 before making an outlet pass!

Let's say Drummond has gotten rid of the ball in a second. What's been solved and what comes next?

The Pistons go on the attack quicker. The opponent's defense is less organized. We have more seams to exploit. We gain the initiative.

The initiative decides a lot of fights early, allowing the good guys (assuming we're still the good guys after KCP destroyed that guy's fence while drunk driving) to save energy and in turn get back on defense more easily.

You're from PHX. Why is a Canadian explaining D'Antoni basketball?

The Pistons Want to Win Now – The Ringer

If this turns out to be true, I won't be very happy. Even if we packaged Stanley with the 12th pick, we ain't getting anything worthwhile in return.

Swapping RJ for Bledsoe could be ok though.

This is prompted by the move downtown.

Business reality colliding with fan dreams of second round picks becoming MVPs when receiving a starting slot straight out of training camp.

I don't care what we do with this roster, they aren't good enough to have untouchables. Just win baby. No one will be talking about the glory days of getting the 8th seed in 2016 a decade from now.

At least, I hope everyone has enough self-respect and pride not to regard squeaking into the playoffs as a high water mark.

That is effectively the basis of the article I posted.

I genuinely don't think anyone is perceived as untouchable by Stan. The question is who else wants to touch them?

Ill put it out there too - I wouldn't mind going after Jahlil Okafor either.

SVG is trying to transform the Pistons into a poor mans Charlotte Hornets.

    He's got to be fired!

Van Gundy has to win now. He's desperate and is in the same spot Dumards was in his last few years blowing on the dice and hoping he gets lucky. I'd include the 12th pick if it got him out of town.

Nothing says "win now" more than a Thaddeus Young 2.0.

With this pick, we should be trying to find the next antekoumpo. Athletic project.

Good grief, here we go again sprinting to the front of the shatbird express.

Instead of addressing the fact that "we" don't pass the ball and take open shots we are going overpay someone to come in and magically start knocking down shots. I'm sure there is no chance of this guy shooting below his career average if he signs here.
Wait for it......this has never turned out poorly for the Pistons.

If rumours about a 9th seed trading their 1st round pick for Spencer Hawes and breaking the bank for CJ Miles don't get you pumped up then I don't know what it takes.

    Your move, Charlotte.

Just wait for the inevitable announcement about how many thousands of fadeaway hook shots Dre is practicing this summer.

I don't care anymore since I boarded the Express Train to Nihilism at the end of the season but this looks like #FakeNews to me. The local beat writers do a crappy job of forecasting SVG's moves. I can't think of one trade they called well in advance.

I wouldn't get too worked up because if SVG is wrecking everything, he will get fired. Gores will not allow him to tank the team just to indulge him. The move downtown puts a LOT of pressure on ownership AND management to perform.

I am quoting you. It's your words. I am using your words when you use the words and I use them back. It's circular using of the words and that's from you.
