I didn't interpret it that way. The following types of exchanges are what came to mind:

    - Baynes sucks!
    - No, he doesn't.

I'm going to have to go ahead and dismiss that.

    See, it works!

I think exactly the opposite. His mindset is 100% open and it always was. But it was always about being able to evidence something.

Relying on conjecture and speculation is narrow minded. It means you cannot be convinced of reality.

Possibly going to run the Hawks. Not a big fan of that decision, unless it means we leapfrog them into the playoff mix without doing anything.

So this does again raise the question of whether Joe was frozen out of the past Pistons events by Management/Gores (jersey retirements, last Palace game) or did he avoid/decline invitations to them? He clearly isn't the recluse shunning the spotlight that we thought he might be as he is doing media again in order to facilitate job opportunities.

I'm guessing Joe D declined invitations. Gores wouldn't freeze him out like that.

If he did decline them it would lower him in my book. You need to put personal stuff aside for historic franchise moments. Disappointing that he only comes out of hiding the moment he wants something for personal gain.

Joe's always been a savvy operator when it comes to public perception. People have short memories and he knows this.

I am happy to see him go to a division rival. A pox on their house.

We will have to agree to disagree.

My dear friend (and I mean that) you will NEVER work successfully in sales with that attitude.

"The truth" is largely based on perspective, already formed bias, and personal consequence. That is why it is so difficult to get people to agree upon so-called "universal truths".

Evidence based argument is not about universal truth. It is about providing evidence for your argument. You can cherry pick data, twist hypotheses etc. That's fine - I think we agree on this point.

But no matter what, there is no evidence that the earth is flat. Me being unwelcome to that idea isn't because I'm close minded, its because I'm open minded. Show me the video of the earth being flown through space on a giant turtle and corroborating info and I'm in. Can't? Sorry. Not going to waste my time.

Everything is sales. That's how I got a job! If I ever come to Canada, I'm going to sell you on having a beer with me.

And I am going to sell you on paying for it! And something to eat, maybe nachos.

I prefer personal first hand knowledge and I am ok with pleading ignorance where appropriate (basically everywhere because we're a woefully ignorant species about pretty much everything).

I honestly do not know if the earth is round or flat because I have zero first hand personal knowledge to inform me.

"Turtles all the way down"? Just kidding... :)

On a more serious note, why does the moon look flat to the naked eye?

Based on my personal observations, the moon is the size of a quarter.

So? What this has to do with my question?

TaS: The answer is not as simple as you and Jeremy might think. :)

Do your homework, research and come back with a reasonable answer. And, by the way, statistics are not going to help this time. :)

You're probably going to say because of its Lambertian reflectance.
