Admittedly I haven't watched a game with Rubio on the floor in a while but a cursory glance at the stats don't support this statement at all, unless by one of best defensive PG's in the league you mean one of the most middling defensive PGs with a high turnover rate and a crook shooting arm. Ricky Rubio - among PG's in the league he is 20th in defensive win shares and 27th in DBPM. That's not that good. In fact he is tied for 20th in DWS with Patty Mills, Goran Dragic and Kyrie Irving. Names we often hear in contention for the best defensive point guards in the league. DBPM is probably the better measure though. And he is equal with such defensive forces as Spencer 'The Mayor" Dinwiddie, Jrue Holiday and Jerian "10mpg" Grant.
