Trace makes no sense for us. Less sense for wolves. Financially, maybe, but we would still be way over cap for a few years.
SVG just wants Rubio so he can get hurt and then we gotta play Ish
I am fairly confident this is all going to blow over. So I want to offer some positives on Rubio real fast before it does: 1) Reporter: "Ricky, why are you a pass-first point guard?" Ricky: "Well, Magic Johnson said it best: 'A basket makes one person happy, an assist makes two people happy'." 2) Drummond, KCP, and others might be upset at first with Reggie gone, but I think they will get over it very quickly once they realize how well and often Rubio would feed them the rock. 3) He averages nearly two steals a game and once led the league in steals. Given how poor of a defender Reggie is, one would have to assume Rubio is an upgrade in this regard. The negatives are bountiful for Rubio: 1) Awful shooter, 2) Injury-Prone, 3) SVG's pride of trading away Reggie.
Rubio's arrival would vastly elevate the games of Drummond, KCP, Reggie and Leuer/Morris. Who'll be our go to guy in crunch time though? How do we fill that gap? As we always say, this team will go as far as Reggie/Drummond go. Rubio/Drummond will take us on a different path, but not necessarily farther. This would be a lateral move.
SVG says this trade is NOT happening. Van Gundy refutes Jackson-Rubio trade rumors
So your saying its highly possible then?
To date SVG has been a straight shooter when asked about trades. They've done an excellent job of keeping things close to the chest. Perhaps the sports media is taking a page from the mainstream press. "Unnamed sources" and "unverified rumors". I'm looking for RJ to have the game of his life tonight. LOL
Mark Stein is a hatchet-man for a sports journalist. He always tries to be the first to leak a story and four out of five times, it's not actually right and it's just click-bait.
He has a future at the Washington Post one day.
So your all saying there is a decent chance?
Van Gundy said: 'We are going young. We're featuring the young guys.' Van Gundy did: He traded Tony Mitchell for Tolliver within 2 days. Van Gundy said: 'We are not making any trades, certainly nothing major.' Van Gundy did: He traded for RJ the next day. Reggie nay no be going to MN, but he's going.
Ernie, I don't pray often, but I have recently been praying for you.
There is a trade which makes no sense for either team. It even says so in the article "Dunn is regarded as the Wolves' point guard of the future, which has led to Rubio's availability." But aside from that Rubio just isn't that good. He still hasn't fixed his shooting and he can't defend anything. He is only a good passer. Shabazz doesn't have any value either. A career 9 PPG scorer with negative VORP isn't going to make anyone froth at the mouth.
The current leader in steals per game is John Wall @ 2.2. So only average, for two possessions per game, the opponent has not had a chance to get a shot up and given up a high % basket on the other end. This is a change of 2 possessions against an average of circa 95 per game. I don't think that steals=good defense on this basis.
Rubio can't shoot to save his life but he is a great defender. He's one of the best defensive PG:s in the league.
I think SVG would rather have Cole Adrich over both Shabazz and Rubio.
Don't tell Dre that. He gambles like a madman.
A win makes everybody happy.
I like that there are rumors that involve Reggie. Maybe some trade whispers will get him playing the right way.
Separate names with a comma.
