I think if we all listened to "To Sir with Love" while contemplating linwood's wonderful picture it would be pretty damn close to Pistonsforum Nirvana.

I was a regular poster on detnews.com back in the day, I even remember the long diatribe over the word "irregardless".

Then I got so fed up with the some of the crapola that went on at detnews, and I remember the day when Microwave posted that he was working on an alternative forum.

He couldn't get it going fast enough for me, I was willing ready and able to post and talk about basketball without being dogged out because of my gender, color, i.e.

Over there, I had heard it all, some folks were just downright rude.

I rolled right on over to pistonsforum as soon as it was established, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

Microwave/Roscoe is truly like family to me, I love you dude.

I think we can all safely say that this is the one of the best "sports talk" websites on the net. The overall intellect and insight on this forum is the best bar-none. Dont believe me just go to any other "forum" on the net especially the Bulls' forum. Thanx Ros for this terrific site and keep up the phenomenal work. If there were awards for site like this you would definitely have to be in the top 2. Only because of my slight ignorance of any other forums that may be out there. I love this site and visit it at least 6 times a day!!!!!!!!! Thanx Ros and

    Go Pistons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, there are some boards where the average level of knowledge is higher. But it always comes at a cost: flamers, know-it-alls, newbie hazing and a "Lord of the Flies" dynamic. What I admire about PF.com is that there's room for everybody, and people look out for each other a little bit. It's adult, except when it's the right kind of childish. And that is a testament to the guy running the show.

Let's not beat around the bush...this is an obvious reference to the MLive forum.

Agreed. I think there have been maybe 3 or 4 days since this site was opened that I haven't checked in at least once. And that was because I was away on business.

In the beginning after I joined I didn't come here often, thinking that this is just another forum. But the more time went by the more I like it. Now I post regularly and like to read what others have to say. This forum is good. Lets keep it going. Way to go Roscoe.

Like a lot of you guys, I check PF.com a few times every day. I browse a ton of forums, but there's nothing like this place; it is internet home. Cheers Roscoe. :)

At the end of the day, things in my life have lead to me to certain outlook on this stuff, and it was easier for me, and everyone on the forum to go with one main standard.

    "Be nice."

If everyone sticks close to that, the forum will be a good place to hang out. If it becomes cliquish or hostile, then it's going to be a mess.

Of course, we also have the underlying, "don't do anything illegal" but I do really despise having to enforce someone else's laws on my friends. On the other hand, I also don't like being sued or going to jail.

Thank you very much. After 7 years, if people like this forum, then that's more than enough validation for doing it. Not too many things enjoy a 7 year run online.

This is my favorite online forum now.

I get to talk about a team which none of my friends could name any of the starters for, and basketball in general, and it is a very friendly environment.

    Good work everyone :)

I love the Pistons and like the Clippers....visit this PF forum everyday even when traveling....just went visited the Clipper forum for the first time since they were eliminated in May.....bunch of arrogant SOB's over there....but I must admit they are love their team and of course everybody over there hates the Lakers, just like we all disliked the Cetics, Cavs, Pacers and Bulls over the past 10 years. One thing they do over is postpostpost passionately during their games running almost a regular live chat on every play....over 250 post so far for last nights win.

I know we have the passion over here, but as we regroup through the growing pains, it will be awhile before we can get back to fever pitch. In the mean time, I still like coming to friendly confines of the Piston forum to read the comments, criticisms and praises of our Pistons and the secondary commentary on the Tigers, Lions, Wings, Wolverines and Spartans'...this is my home forum so thanks to Roscoe for putting it all together and happy birthday today to him, Motown and Dumars4ever, who I hope will comeback to contribute when the Pistons get over .500 and stay there for a whole season!!!:gift:
