Here’s a look at the top two regardless of position.

    By sprocket points…

    1. UTA: Boozer, Williams
    2. NJN: Kidd, Carter
    3. SAN: Duncan, Parker
    4. DEN: Camby, Anthony
    5. TOR: Bosh, Ford
    6. CLE: James, Gooden
    7. IND: O’Neal, Tinsley
    8. MIA: Wade, Haslem
    9. HOU: Yao, McGrady
    10. SEA: Lewis, Wilcox

    By percent of team production…

    1. NJN
    2. MIA
    3. NOR: Paul, Chandler
    4. MIN: Garnett, Davis
    5. TOR
    6. UTA
    7. POR: Randolph, Jarrett
    8. CLE
    9: HOU
    10. SAN

The top two Pistons (Billups and Wallace) rank 11th and 17th respectively. Still no superstars on this team.

    Thanks for the Stats DBA.

They are usefull. Some problems I have with raw stats are

    1) Is there a stat that measures when all 3 are on the court at the same time?

    2) Better yet, when all 3 are playing at the same time in the 4th quarter of close games?

    3) There are +/- floor time but what about +/- in the 4th quarter when all 3 are on the court.

    4) Also Tunovers are a very important stat. Especially with this years team. How are the TO's when all 3 are on the court at the same time.

There has always been something about chemistry and smart play in crunch time that does not really fit any statistical category. Or maybe there is and I am not aware of it.

As you note, you can get to #1 from 82games, but no one that I know of publishes the sort of time by time stuff you are looking for. I had gotten 82games to agree to run that kind of stuff for me last year to evaluate point guards - split the 4th into a couple of time periods then cross by closeness of game heading into the fourth - but I got busy, they got busy, and we let it fall through the cracks. You need someone like that with a full data base of time series stats. Otherwise, I don't know of any other way to grab and select just the game situations and times that would make this sort of analysis a lot more interesting.

It is interesting and I do appreciate it. I often check 82games to see how the floor time stats are shaping up.

This is the challenge in this sport that makes it that much more interesting. Its not baseball where the offense comprises of individual events ( more or less ) that can be easily quantified.

Arenas, Butler and Jamison, they only lack defense but they can lite it up offensively.

    Jamison is the starting 4.

Deshaun Stevenson plays the 2 guard with Butler at the 3.

Max, our three guys, Billups, Rip, and Tay, start every 1st and 3rd quarter with Mohammed on the floor. Which makes their stats completely mediocre. Our starting unit is a fifty fifty unit, giving up more points than they score half the time, and outscoring half the time. Just mediocre.

I am still stuck on last year. I think Jefferies and Jamison used to switch off playing between the three and four.
