    Killing time?

The Warriors play good basketball, we do not. How is that for binary?

I agree but I left it out because it didn't fit the narrative I am pushing.

I can't remember the last time someone was held less accountable than SVG.

Wow, you've already forgotten Joe Dumars during the Buffonery era. LOL

I mean if you seriously think about it, was anyone less accountable than Dumars during the Karen Davidson transition (not a sex change, the ownership transition). He had no boss, and man did he make a mess ...

How quickly we forget what that was like.

By accountable, you would like to see SVG fired?

Burn it down. Cut every0ne, take the cap hit for 6 years, then draft a new team, sign guys playing in China. The kind of guys that @coynejeremy@coynejeremy is crazy about.

Even with the rising cap, unless he improves substantially Drummond's contract is going to be a boat anchor. The ceiling for a core of Reggie-KCP-Drummond is a 7th seed and a 1st round exit from the playoffs.

How would we even afford a high-end PF if all our money is tied up in a rebounding specialist, a defensive specialist and a sharpie specialist? Our highest paid players should be able to do more than one thing well.

I really really like Drummond as a player. I think he's awesome in some ways. Signing him to max contract was the right thing to do last year. That assumed that he would grow his game and become an even bigger force than last year. That didn't happen. He stagnated and even regressed in some ways. Our assumption was wrong and we're not getting our money's worth out of that contract. For the good of the team, we should sell high and move on. Otherwise I fear we'll be exactly where we are now when his contract ends.

The lux tax will be at around $120MM. Reggie, KCP, and Dre will only be at half that.

The Cavs spent a total of $185MM last year (including lux tax) to get their title... and it was a major upset to get it.

Can't be pussy footing around here. We have a Billionaire owner and are headed to a new arena.

    Great point.

So, looking at next year, assuming $120M is the lux tax, we have the following committed salaries (in millions):
    Drummond: $23.8
    Tobias: $16
    Reggie: $16
    Leuer: $10.5
    Boban: $7
    Baynes: $6.5 (PO)
    Ish: $6
    Morris: $5
    SJ: $3.1
    Ellenson: $1.8
    Hilliard: $1 (TO)
    Gbinjie: $0.9
    Josh Smith: $5.4
    Aaron Gray: $0.4

    That puts us at $103.4

It's pretty much a given that Baynes is gonna walk. so that drops our commitment down to $96.9.

So, pay Pope the $20M he's asking, and we're at $116.9M. Just enough to sign our first round pick to a guaranteed contract.

To get our decent PF while staying under the lux tax, we would then need to ship Leuer + Morris (roughly $16M) in a trade. I don't see any PFs that are on a contract like that with the type of impact we're looking for.

Our best bet would be to go hard after Boogie at FA and once we lock him up then go over the cap to sign Pope, and pay the lux tax.

Reggie-Pope-Tobias-Cousins-Drummond can be an exciting lineup that sells tickets.

I said the same thing 2 months ago.....Ben had his Sheed, Laimbeer had his Buddha, Kareem had his Worthy and even SVG's Dwight Howard had his Rashard Lewis, Shaq had his Horry..etc. Basically dre has not had a decent PF to do the dirty work.....since the under performing Moose Monroe was in town.

The majority of the fan base wanted him fired. Hardly anyone besides Ernie and Lee is screaming for Stans head.

    Get him outta here!

Ish got schooled by Peyton in back-to-back crucial possessions.
