Would someone just go ahead and trade for Asik please? Soon.
Been out of the country and out of internet range for 6 weeks or so (I set my lineups all the way in advance - thank you 'start active players' button) and come back to find the thinnest waiver wire of all time. A couple of injured guys to replace too. At least I'm somehow not way down the bottom of the standings. If you've sent me a trade request in the past, sorry, I wasn't ignoring you on purpose. This is gonna be a challenge to make the playoffs (or at least beat Laims record of waiver adds) - whichever comes first.
PS - I DID have my lineups set in that 0-9 week - I just got my butt kicked fair and square. It was actually closer than the score suggested if you look at the box score (had injuries to a couple of players). Seems I am unbeaten since then despite missing all the FA opportunities...
@Roscoe - I didn't mind you retweeting my FB status. It was a great trip.
everytime I am mad at myself for having dropped John Henson in favour of Vitor Faverani, for not having picked up Varejao due to the time difference in Europe and the US, or for not having taken Kevin Love at #10 in the draft, I think of the guy that dropped Aron Afflalo.
Yep...I drafted Afflalo in the 10th round and dropped him after a week as he struggled out of the gate
I benefited from 2 out of 4 of these scenarios. lol. Umm....thank you?
wow. Went to bed last night up 5-4 with only Meeks still playing. Checked the score this morning and I won 7-2. Somehow Meeks went 8-15 and won me FG% by .001. Even more incredible is he went 7-7 and won FT% by .000128. He usually shoots a decent percentage but rarely gets to the line that often.
I hate it when percentages get that terribly close. Luckily, with all the chuckers on my team, FG% is usually lost by a fair margin. Btw, I finally dropped out of the playoff picture (after losing yet another weekly matchup), which means I am desperate and longing for trades.
Make me an offer.....not of your usual lopsided-variety, though....
I still don't know why I am the lone trade shyster here. n the last weeks, I have received offers that go far beyond what I would ever have dared to propose.
You aren't the lone... you're the original!
I am looking forward to get my [self-censored] kicked by your team. They look amazing on paper.
If I do all of this hard work just to flame out in the playoffs, I will not be a happy camper....
The waiver wire is absolutely brutal this season. Hardly any good finds.....
Yep it's a real slog ... Thankfully I'm fairly happy with my team for now !
can't say how often it happened to me that I thought "humm, that guy sounds promising" and gone already he was.
it would be a pleasure to kick you out of the first round and pull a New York Knicks anno 1999 with an even better end. Didn't that happen to you last year or 2 years ago? Rocking the regular season and getting kicked out of the first round?
I've been watching the waiver wire religiously since losing Rose to injury. Hardly anyone I picked up has been productive for more than 2-3 games. So far my favorite FA pickups have been:
most of my favourite pickups either play for other teams now or never happened in reality :D
