I hope we don't get the 13th pick. 13 is supposedly an unlucky number.

That team did a complete reversal of going from a fifth place 32-50 in the prior year to a first place 50-32.

We started Ben, Stack and Uncle Cliffy up front, and Table cloth and Atkins in the back court. It was that benchmob of Corliss, Jon Barry, Damon Jones and Zelly that was a thorn in the other teams sides. The next year when Joe acquired Rip and Billups, ...table cloth moved to the 3....and the bench was even better with Atkins, Barry, Memo, Tay, Corliss and Zelly......boy those were days.....the Pistons were winning and improving, my dad was alive and my two sons even listened to me then.we had the an aging veteran who talked about how bad the clippers were and how Larry Brown was father figure at Kansas.....yep thank Danny Manning for bringing LB to the Pistons the next season. ...now none of those things are true:crying:

I played the lottery ball 25 times and we finished 12th 24 times nabbing Duke's Harry Giles and 13th once taking Texas Jarrett Allen both big men.

Most years there is an eventual stud that goes that late or later. But identifying them is obviously difficult.

Steph Curry was a 13th pick. He worked out all right.

I am not confident we would know what to do with a top 3 pick if we got that freakin' lucky.

I think we can all agree that it is better to get a top 3 pick than a pick at 8 or 9.

    Do you agree with that?

I thought you wanted to avoid drafting a young one-and-done PG?

    Not for everybody, though.

Chamberlain, Nash, Okur, they all used to wear number 13.

Lucky, unlucky numbers if it is such a thing, are more individual.

I have NEVER endorsed drafting a PG ever IIRC.

A high pick has value in trade. A lower pick, less so.

Do you think the Pistons can win, win win, which is all that matters(to you), with RJ as the PG?

Yes. I think RJ is a very good PG when he is healthy and he will continue to get better with good health.

I don't think we can win starting Leuer or Morris. I don't think we can win if we allow Dre to keep half-assing it on defense.

The starting power forwards for the top teams this year include:
    Warriors - Green
    Spurs - Aldridge
    Rockets - Anderson
    Clippers - Griffin
    Jazz - Favors

    Celtics - Amir
    Cavs - Love
    Raptors - Ibaka
    Wizards - Morris

At least one team has had success starting a Morris at PF...

There looks to be a diversity of PFs on successful teams from offensive-focused (Anderson/Griffin/Love) to offense-defense hybrid (Aldridge/Ibaka) to defensive-focused (Green/Favors/Amir).

What kind of PF do you think the Pistons could win starting?

Well, your Bridges pick isn't going to work. :)

I'm not even sure what position would be ideal for us to draft. I think we need to win the lottery!
