oh the irony - Pistons 5/80 may be the best offer at the end of the day for KCP. Nets wanted picks and with Caroll trade they got 1st and 2nd rounder.

Have any centers been signed so far? Everyone who has been been paid have been point guards, wings or stretch fours, right?

Galloway is insurance for RJ when/if he continues to underperform. I think SVG envisions a three-way battle for starting PG. Why not turn it into a competition and make RJ continue to earn it? I think guys think that just because they are the highest paid at a position, it's automatically theirs or should be theirs. Let the competition begin.

We're not good enough to waste money on insurance imo. If our plan A doesn't work, we shouldn't care about minimizing the damage.

If Langston Galloway is competing for the spot as starting PG his team will be picking early in the next draft.

I think SVG is lost. He is trying to build the 2010 Orlando Magic. The league has changed. His playing style and model for building a team were flawed back then and is just plain obsolete now.
I like Bradley and I think he will put up even better numbers on this team, but at the end of the day if Drummond does not improve this team is going no where.

I'd argue SVG is the architect of today's NBA. The Warriors have more in common with his Magic teams than they do with any other team I can think of.

You are 100% correct about Dre. We can only be as good as he is. If he is great, we will be too.

The difference with Golden State is that everyone on the floor can shoot the 3. Also Golden State does not have bigs per say they use small ball or tweeners that play multiple positions on the floor which give other teams match problems.

It seems like it's the cap being less than expected. Everyone planned poorly.

    He'll be a great addition.

This team lives and dies on Drummond. But that doesn't change the fact that AB is a massive upgrade.

True. But he's one knee injury away from not having a title or an extra few million.

I don't know Baynes the man. Maybe the title is worth it to him. Maybe he's guessing he can get more money next year. Some men play for money, some for women, some for honor, some for country, some for legacy.

I like Baynes a lot, and he will flourish in Boston. Smart player.

I'm not convinced that he's an upgrade at all to be honest. It seems like it will be close to a push. He is cheaper than Pope would have been... but only for one season. He's also older and has missed some games. Bradley has averaged 59 games per season over 7 years. i.e. he doesn't play in 28% of the games for his team. KCP has played in 96% of the games for us, averaging 79 games per season.

Per 100 possessions for pts, ast, and tov. 2016-17 season

    Stat: KCP/ AB

    Pts: 20.9/ 24.2
FGA: 18.5/ 20.9 (AB shot 2.4 more shots per 100 possessions, and probably was more open due to IT)
    Ast: 3.9/ 3.3
    Tov: 1.7/ 2.4
    A/Tov: 2.3/ 1.4
    Stl: 1.8/ 1.8
    VORP: 1.8/ 0.7
    OWS: 2.0/ 1.1
    DWS: 2.5/ 2.0
    WS/48: 0.086/0.081

The main difference seems to be that AB shot .390 from deep while KCP show .350. Pope was hovering near .400 before his shoulder injury and AB is .365 career.

So, AB scored 1.16 points per FGA and Pope scored 1.13 points per FGA last season.

Pope has a better ast/tov ratio and better advanced stats.

And then you have to factor in that we lost Morris, who was one of the best contracts in the NBA and who played PF for us.

But what could we do? We didn't budget correctly and had to dump players to stay under the cap.

Trade grades: Who wins Celtics-Pistons deal for Bradley, Morris?
