Next week's game is what counts for UM. The outcome of this one was irrelevant. Still, I liked the fight from MSU.

The 2-point conversion may be second-guessed in the days to come, but O'Connor said the team was on board with it.
"We don't play for second place, obviously," O'Connor said. "Everybody was all in on going for it."

O'Connor liked the idea of going for it. He also believes that second place is a bad idea...for this season...

Your fanbase will be doubled next week though.... OSU's future for the playoffs depends as much on you guys beating PSU as them beating us....

I have said it for a few years now, If Coach D played Mich every week he'd be 10-2 every year (maybe a bit closer to .500 if we continue to trend up) the man takes the game so personal and has his team ready to play and thats dripped over into the OSU game, the problem is the rest of the season... he has way to many close games against so so teams... He is the perfect coach for the underdog (so historically almost always against the UM/OSU's of the BTen) but when he's the favorite and can't use the chip he just doesn't have the same approach. the fake punts the crazy plays disapear and he trys to pound it between the tackles, for MSU to take the next step he needs to learn to be the alpha and not be a chaser....

O'Connor needs to stay away from mathematics as well as football. Maybe work for Disney. MSU was terrible this year. They are fighting to stay out of 14th place, remain in 13th place and playing for 12th place (give or take) he was around ten PLACEs off. Wake up. That is false pride talking. You were on several excellent teams. The last one sucked, you started at QB, and YOU sucked. You were on the green team today. The OTHER team is not playing for 2nd place.

I used the word "joke". M was the last thing on Dantonios mind. Maybe were to spend the holidays during the Bowl games. The game was actually quite relevant to the top ten teams. If S can hang with O, and P beat O, then this O isn't like the past few O's I cannot imagine M losing. But they couldn't crush a bad S team so O may keep it close.

Hated the call....you play for a tie and hope for OT where you battle it out until the end. No way the way they struggled to get those other yards was the OSU was going to allow a completed pass from the QB...

Totally agree on the underdog stuff. But I think, all things being equal (talent) he would be 6-6. Both coaches know how to motivate their teams. They are very very different but very very effective. Harbaugh can hold his own against anyone. Dantonio is 1-1 vs. Michigan and 2-3 vs OSU. I think you give coach D too much credit. I would go into battle with any of them leading the way. At least the coaches in Michigan have personality. Harbaugh and his upbeat style and antics. Dantonio with his sour puss and underdog stuff. The guy at OSU...well to be fair while nothing sticks out I really don't know much about him.

Penn State coach said Michigan State was the best 3-7 team in history. Think about it. If you are that "good" and you go 3-7 doesn't that make you the biggest bust in history? I.e. The WORST 3-7 in history??

The Michigan State quarterbacks play not to lose. They don't play to win. They just don't want to make a stupid mistake. Which of course makes the make a stupid mistake. Lots of them. I am trying to think of reasons to be excited about next year. Nothing comes to mind.

I know Michigan State wanted to win. And that's all they were thinking about. But deep down, are they not happy that both Michigan and Ohio State are screwed?

well you know I don't want my team screwed.... but.... I was really pulling for State today at the expense of sending my most bitter Rival to the Big Ten title game.... I think that program in Happy Valley deserved the death penalty, and there current coach did some pretty unforgivable things in the same light while he was at Vanderbilt.... you just don't look the other way for players or coaches....

But who in Aug would have guessed that the East rep would have been Penn State....

Wait...the CURRENT coach (Franklin) did something... turned his head to stuff (albeit different, I assume) too?

What is the difference between MSU and Corn Flakes?

Corn Flakes belong in a bowl.

We don't do that kind of work. We sub that out to UM graduates.

I'm guilty as well. I knew there was something I liked about Bill.

That's weird. I just typed Bill and my iPhone autocorrected it to bull.
