Failed 2-point conversion. ugh
would have gone qb keeper.... but it might work out if the D holds and you get once last shot for a fg
Keeper would have been a better call. O'Connor has been terrible today. No way you have him throw for 2 when you could tie the game.
I kept hoping Dantonio would change his mind on the two point conversion attempt. Great call coach. Glad they played hard. You may have been right fishy but the coach brought his orange wig and big red clown nose. Who DOES that?? Was numb to the other losses but this one bothers me. I'm glad I did not waste time watching the whole game.
Late play calls were so bad it was almost like Dantonio was throwing the game.
I did not like the call at all. But if you're going to do it, I would've done what you just said.
What could they hope to gain? Call was not gutsy it was gutless and stupid. If you go up 18 to 17 Ohio State gets desperate and kicks a field goal. Squib kick was stupid too. He needs to get over himself. The fake punt worked. You can't do that crap all day. The defense was playing well. Tie the score. Do a regular kick off you have the momentum. Then go for a field goal after you stop them. Instead he gives them the momentum and seals his teams destiny. IDIOT!!
Odds of getting two against osu today was probably less than 30%. I don't like it. Good game by msu though.
I am the lone thinking it was the right call.... your not going to a bowl game, this is your bowl game... and I just don't like your odds on the short field with OSU's QB in OT, if it was NFL rules I'd go for 1 everytime but in this game I go for 2 and know what I need to do, but I don't like my odds in OT.
Yeah, I was thinking about that later. The Dantonio had no confidence in the offense and that the defense would eventually give up some points. Still, a terrible call, IMO. Especially, the play. The receivers and QB are nothing to write home about. Ohio State had plenty of time left. I'm pretty sure they would've marched down the field and kicked a field goal if they were down a point. If it was tied I think there would've been no sense of urgency and maybe something good happens in overtime. usually, when they do that I am nervous and either totally for going for it or wishy-washy. In this case, I felt it was going to lose the game. Which it did. State lost their momentum. It seems like Michigan State showed up for four games this year. Notre Dame, Michigan, Rutgers and Ohio State. In the whole scheme of things this one doesn't matter but it is the only one that bothered me. Because I felt like maybe they could win it. I don't see a whole lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball. I cannot wait for the big game next year against Michigan. Western Michigan that is...
I would have kicked the PAT....take your chances from there...
Espn win probability had MSU at 70.3% after the TD. So, I guess it may have been an OK call. OSU could have still taken the game in reg.
Ok. I've done a 180. Based on this new development...good call coach D!!
It might be different if the players involved were better. I wouldn't pin my hopes on one play with the guys out there. .
Of course you do. And, if you want to chance it, you certainly don't leave it up to a QB that played like s*** much of the day/season. Starting to think Dantonio truly hates UM. All bets are off for next week in Happy Valley.
Funny. I was also going to joke that he threw the game to keep M from rising. His call was stupid. He isn't dumb or evil enough to forfeit the game though. Maybe if there were a few seconds left and you ran a better play. But he left O an eternity to come back.
Good call...planning a close game...with good running
GREAT CALL...by the one who sees all...hears all...and will beat Tater in the playoffs.
Also... 1. The QB needed to trust his receiver and thtow the ball BEFORE he got to the spot. He WAS briefly open. I'm sure the quarterback is a nice kid. Have a good life…but stay away from football 2. Why didn't they send the one reciever away from the intended target? Why have them so close that the guy who intercepted it could leave his man and be close enough to help out his teammate? What am I missing here? WTF coach?? 3. This game did not matter. Why is it the only one that bugs me? Maybe because Michigan State could've gained a little respect back?
